CapuchinI know a few of us are eagerly awaiting delivery of these so thought I’d make a thread so we can all keep track of updates etc
Ordered ultimate Misty jungle (with light leather) on 9th November. Delivery slated for end of March. Dealer has had no update yet.

@Tillyman You will get a confirmation email saying they will get back to you within 48hs, so possibly Tuesday now.
Just to manage expectations, all you will receive is an estimated month of delivery to the dealership.
I admit they won’t be able to perform a miracle for you, but after contacting them on several occasions I got:
Not planned, planned in next 14days, Build start date, build end date, Estimated shipping date, Shipping time, time at arrival port and expected time to dealership.
For example when mine went into planned I got please allow 10 weeks to build 2 weeks to ship and 2 weeks delivery to dealer, my next to last commination was: Please allow 2 weeks to ship and two weeks to dealer. (My build start date on the Tuscon was 1st Jan and build complete date 23rd Feb)
My dealer never updated me and I always found when ever i asked them they wern’t interested or gave me wrong info. I found it easier to go via Hyundai.
April 22, 2022 at 8:51 pm #183188Perhaps the info on the Tucson is more detailed, on three occasions all I received was an estimated delivery month.

Ian WebsellHello and a very happy weekend to you all.
I found the 1011 code and sent it to the Hyundai UK. They have come back to me and said car will be at the dealer on Monday. 30 mins later the Dealer rang me to tell your car will be with us on Monday. Can you take delivery on 29/04.
So thank you for the info of 1011 code. (I can’t remember who said, sorry) but it worked. ??So from 4/10/21 we finally get our Kona EV Ultimate on Friday. The dealer is sending pics when it arrives Monday. ?????

EveI ordered my Ultimate in January. I was told delivery would be June but today found out it will be July / August time.
Hoping it’ll be sooner than that by some miracle but it is doubtful.

April 23, 2022 at 1:13 pm #183222I spoke to Hyundai twice. It is taking up to 10 days to respond to enquiries. I am on day 4 now.

If your passing the dealers pop in and ask them, as I see no reason they wouldn’t give it to you.

ChrisIt’s like 45 mins away as I went there for the dealer being so good but then he left the company lol

BrentContact motability, Chris. They’ll call the dealer while you’re on the phone. They take bad service quite seriously and will talk to the dealer or log a complaint if you need to. I’ve found most motability dealers aren’t very helpful or polite. I’m 29 and don’t have visible disability and they’ve all questioned me or critisied stuff and ignored my request for regular updates due to massive anxiety.
April 23, 2022 at 4:54 pm #183237<p style=”text-align: left;”>Totally agree Brent – I had issue with vw garage – rang Motability to let them know – I think it is important to let Motability know when service is unacceptable.
it was the first time I have had to do it – I gave the garage several chances before phoning Motability.</p>
When I receive my Kona it will be my 6th car and it was the first time I have had to contact Motability.
So my experience is that most dealers are ok the odd rogue and some very good ones.I wonder if some sales persons are pushed into being rep for Motability and their heart is never going to be in it. ££££ first service if I have too

Ian WebsellHello
This is my 2nd Motability Car, the first being a Kia Venga 4, Kona EV which I get on Friday. I have to say in both Dealerships they have been brilliant. A lot of respect to my wife and I. Also during getting the Kia serviced, the customer service has been brilliant. I cannot fault any of them.
Let’s hope it continues.April 23, 2022 at 7:15 pm #183242
ChrisI’ve been trying to leave complaining till I get my car in a way I don’t want them to Use that to make me wait longer

ChrisI did get a order number and this response from the dealer I emailed 7 days ago I’ve just checked the system and it does seem like the vehicle has been delayed a bit longer to the middle of July (Probably because of the parts shortages due to the war in Ukraine) sounds like to me he doesn’t have a clue ??♂️

If it is further delayed it will be down to the global shortages of semi conductors not necessarily down to wiring harnesses from Ukraine, which I don’t believe Hyundai use especially in the Kona EV coming from Korea.

ChrisI did message Hyundai uk on Facebook with the order number anyone know how long they take to reply I did get a message saying Hi Chris, I will send a message over to our Supply Team and will come back to you as soon as this is received

BrentI’m fairly sure the harness issue is largely impacting bmw. This would be the first I’ve heard about it causing an issue for hyundai. It may be speculative but it does seem like they’re getting the kona and EV6 out much faster. Also MG seem to be getting their new electric car out quite a bit quicker too. My neighbours ordered theirs via motability around the same time as me and they’ve had it delivered recently. Could well be hyundai slowing production of the car.
April 25, 2022 at 2:18 pm #183354i heard hyundai were now struggling for chips like everyone else with their stock now near depleted, and especially for the ultimate. they were 3/4 and 6 months but i think its gone up a bit last i heard sadly.
i was lucky to have got my premium when i did.
i might add im still very pleased with it. so patience and you’ll be getting a great car. On local rds and a little town and motorway in these warmer days i have been able to achieve close to 6m/kwh at times. Just dont accelerate fast and dont go over 60.lol

If that date stands good, I think that is pretty good news. Hyundai seem to build the Ultimate’s in batches. Interested what I am told when they reply.
April 25, 2022 at 3:16 pm #183367Afternoon Struth
I ordered my Kona ultimate end of October so prob be June or even July.
most of my journeys are local, but a few times a year I visit my son in Cornwall a 250ml journey.
Have you done any long journeys yet on motorways and A roads. I usually sit at 60-65 mph and am easy on the throttle. I have been on a couple of forums to check out likely charging points from Exeter and along A30.
I assumed 250 mls would be touch and go especially if it was raining etc.would be interested to hear your experience and thoughts – thanks
