GCB increase

With the record residuals now available to Motability and the profits continuing to mount…

Why have we not seen a GCB increase? AP’s are very quick to go up, and seemingly keep going up, but no kickback for scheme users bar an insurance rebate from time to time; Ironically because they recognise they have saved money.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I hope so. It might be welcome relief knowing you get a larger portion of the AP back at least.</p>

Or a small amount at least from sale of old car when handed back.

Currently im coming upto a 5year5month lease of volvo xc60 (new car ordered)

But by extending my current car, in todays used market prices will net motorbility around 2k more than if handed back mid lockdown.

GCB has increased over the years. I wish they would just knock it off the AP for the next car rather than transferring monies ala Chuckle Brothers, to me to you.

The biggest issue is that increases are easy to do, but if the economic situation changes, reductions are not so welcome. As per the changes to adaptations for example.

The intermittent ‘sweeteners’ we receive are welcome.

I think the understanding would be higher if we simply had an email or something in the post to inform us of unprecedented times due to X and X. Leaving customers to discover massively inflated AP’s is poor considering who scheme is for.

Hi Tim, I don’t think Motability have ever disclosed how they arrive at the AP and it is frustrating. The Motability website has a lot of information on it, but I suspect it will not meet your needs as there is little specific detail. Its is glossy. You could fire in a question about an explanation of the recent rise in the AP, it would be interesting to hear what they have to say.
