Ah yes, an 800V battery, so much faster charging as seen in the Porsche Taycan already, plus the vehicle-to-load technology means you can plug into it to power things at 240V (ish).

A welcome step forward by Hyundai.

Plus it looks like it will start at around £35k, superfast charging in 18mins (If you can find a suitable charger), but the Koreans seem to be leading the way in affordable EV

£35k imo it might be more like 40k and is not really what i’d call affordable, but it is a step in the right direction. I have bought a house cheaper than that. allbeit it was in 2002.

10% t0 80% in 18 mins and a range of 300 miles but in the real world thats 70% off  the 300 mile, so thats only 210 miles, Thing is how big is the boot..

I have been following this story online so will be very interested to see what the final spec looks like and if we might see the 73Kwh on the scheme in the future. Hyundai have a good reputation for achieving close to the stated range so hopefully 300/310 miles in the real world for the 73kw which is claimed does 550km. I am not sure what the power outputs are as Hyundai have been a bit coy but if its over 225hp, 168KW, then unless Motability have another look at the limit will mean it will miss out. Even so, the 58Kwh has a range of 280 miles, 260 real world which is still pretty decent. It will be interesting to see what Motability´s attitude will be to raising these limits. Don´t think I will be setting the alarm for 7am, but I will make it my 1st thing to do, after breakfast and meds etc.

I think it’s way over 225bhp, as it’s AWD, but that will be the case for all the AWD BEV’s, so hopefully, Motability will look at it and apply common sense…

Well the car sounds amazing, admittedly we won’t see the launch version, but there are 2 wheel drive versions as well as AWD, and well within the BHP limits, and hopefully well within the price limits too.

The Ionity superchargers up to 350kw will charge the car to 80% in 18mins and a 5min charge will get you 60 miles, even better for me, Ionity has just installed 4 chargers less than 10 miles from my home in rural Wiltshire!  My slight concern over not being able to have a home charger are over 🙂

Its great that they are using plastic bottles (recycled) to make almost all of the interior.

Just watched this my fav EV car channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Den_4COV1zk&feature=youtu.be

The cap has been lifted if you look at the fact the mg hybrid is on with over 250 hp @fwippers

£3,995 or £3,595 lot of AP for an MG.

Is it just me..  Definitely love the look of this, reminds me of the Lancia Integrale (I just hope it’s more reliable)

Looks rather good… like someone has tried to something just a little bit different. Engineering and specs sound good. Hope that the non-boy-racer version makes it on to scheme. Also hope that if and when it does, the makers will have put some knobs, buttons and levers in the cockpit. Seems all unworkable touch-screens in launch snaps.

Next one in series, Ioniq 6, shown as concept, looks even better; proper car-shape, might even support a two-seater. But lack of buttons etc., is compounded by lack of steering wheel in cockpit. Hmm…
