There is a lot of knowledge amongst us, I exclude myself.
The COVID 19 is dominating the news:
How worried should we be?
Will this be Spanish flu proportions or just another contained outbreak as SARS and MERS were?
Oh – and when will we start to see ‘Just in time’ manufacturing suffer?

It’s is a remarkable achievement to get a vaccine to market so quickly, but doesn’t anyone temember the swine flu vaccine and the damage it did despite 4 years of trials?
Long term effects only occur long term.
Do we really believe it can’t happen again with these vaccines?
December 2, 2020 at 12:35 pm #130918Long term effects only occur long term.
Is this an issue in care home residents who typically don’t have long to live & are otherwise at something like a 16% risk of dying from COVID-19?
This is about weighing up risks, make your decision & get on with it.
December 2, 2020 at 12:43 pm #130920No, of course it’s not and I would of course support anyone at high risk of being killed by covid-19 being given the vaccine.. But the government wants everyone to be vaccinated, and will do all it can to make it happen because it believes it’s the only way to defeat covid-19. To me that’s dangerous and irresponsible.
December 2, 2020 at 12:48 pm #130921
ajnProblem here is over thinking and dithering, it’s a personal choice have it or don’t simple.
wigwam I’m sure the government couldn’t give a ?what you do as it’s your personal choice..
December 2, 2020 at 1:04 pm #130924I think that’s naive, ajn, the government very much cares what you and I do. The risk of co-ercion is high. The Welsh government is already planning to issue a credit card size vaccination card to those who have the jab and others may follow. From that it’s easy to see how the absence of a card may be used to deny people access or activities.
The question of coercion has already been raised in parliament
December 2, 2020 at 1:05 pm #130925The PM confirmed today that having the vaccine will be a personal choice!
December 2, 2020 at 1:06 pm #130926To me that’s dangerous and irresponsible.
Perhaps, but nothing is ever certain when it comes to vaccines.
This is about a balance, of driving the much misunderstood “R rate” so loved by politicians below that 1.0 level where the virus gets pushed toward extinction, of achieving a level of “herd immunity” that allows us to be rid of this nemesis.
Remember the quoted efficacy levels of the vaccines we know about so far (94.5% Moderna, 90% Pfizer, 70ish in a good day% Oxford), and work out how many need to have immunity before that herd immunity drives the virus toward extinction (a guestimate of 40-70%, expect around 60%).
This is like the face mask issue, you wear a mask to stop you spreading COVID-19 that you may have but you don’t yet know that you have. It’s about protecting the rest of the population & a public health issue rather than a “human rights” issue.
Oh, & I’m sure a few people will die from adverse reactions to these vaccines, that is all part of weighing up the risks & coming to a decision to protect the vast majority of the population, if the death rate of adverse reaction is less than 1 in a million then we will be fortunate to have such safe vaccines.
The original “swine flu” vaccine incident back in 1976 was 53 deaths out of 45 million vaccinated, and one Guillain-Barré syndrome case per 100,000 persons vaccinated.
For COVID-19 the risk of death is 1.3% (higher levels for the aged, far less risky for the young) so I’m definitely going to have the vaccination. 1 in a million vs 1 in 70, sorry, no contest when it comes to taking risks.
December 2, 2020 at 1:15 pm #130928I was thinking about the Pandremrix vaccine, Gothitjulie, which caused permanent narcolepsy in children and the Government was defeated in court after trying to deny victims compensation. Never trust your government…
December 2, 2020 at 1:40 pm #130930
ajnSo wigwam don’t have it, advise all close to not to have it, then whilst doing that make way for others who want it.
The fact is you just copy and paste what you feel is the truth, I would make my own decision on the matter.
Whilst trying to find facts against the government, you yourself in a way, totally doing the same thing.
Trying to convince others, it’s a choice, make one and get on with life.
You simply don’t know, why on earth would anyone listen to you.
December 2, 2020 at 1:44 pm #130932Obviously I made a mistake, ajn, by responding to your post. For the sake of anyone else reading my posts, I’m sorry for disturbing the troll.

It’s been even quicker than 2 years or have they slipped up and maybe they have been working on the covid mrna for 2 years, when it the virus has only been about for a year or less.. umm or has it.
I wonder, was it in the pipeline all along and if that was the case, why? Was it always the plan. why is boris zooming with bill gates, Mr Johnson hosted a virtual meeting with Mr Gates and the heads of 10 life science and pharmaceutical firms on Tuesday, to discuss how governments can work with the industry to prevent future pandemics. This is just the start.
if you over a certain age and get ill they just put a DNR on you. So why are they trying to save those they’d put a DNR on.. Or is this the mass testing..

The head of the MHRA, Dr June Raine, said that – despite the speed of approval – no corners have been cut.
Clearly thats a lie and thats another red flag, why say that when we know that ain’t true at all.. Short term yes, longer term no..
As no study has been done as would normally be the case.. Thats my issue the constant lies about it all.. Just not to scare people not to have it. but is ok to scare you over the covid and lockdown and destroy the econonoy for it.. The cure is worse than the cause thats for sure imo.. but it’s project restart in full effect..
Seems the uk is the guinea pig for something. just what that is, is not clear, but in time it will be, oh so clear. Maybe it’s to live forever until the end of time.. A world where no one ever dies, a world with no poverty and starvation, like in africa that they been trying to eradicate for how long exactly since live aid.. I don’t buy it one bit..
But after all you can thank brexit for the uk getting it so quickly as the eu needs to self isolate so they can be home for xmas and will not meet up till jan to decide if it’s safe for the eu 27 to rollout.
December 3, 2020 at 4:58 am #131015Oh Wigs you are delusional, soon as you are called out with the fact you simply don’t know, you only copy and paste the belief of others you get all silly about it.
You don’t know, now as told to you before here’s facts.1 Have the vaccination get on with life.
2 Don’t have the vaccination get on with life.
3 Act silly about things trying to cause panic and unrest, because you haven’t got your own mind and want to get in the way in fussing, dithering in self important, delusional nonsense and in the end will hopefully get on with life.
December 3, 2020 at 11:15 am #131068Pfizer given protection from legal action by UK government
The government has granted Covid-19 manufacturer Pfizer a legal indemnity protecting it from being sued, enabling its coronavirus vaccine to be rolled out across the country as early as next week.
The Department of Health and Social Care has confirmed the company has been given an indemnity protecting it from legal action as a result of any problems with the vaccine, the Independent reported.
The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine was approved for use in the UK, with roll out planned for early next week, becoming the first Western country to approve a vaccine.
NHS staff providing the vaccine, as well as manufacturers of the drug, are also protected.
In a press conference with journalists on Wednesday, Ben Osborn, Pfizer’s UK managing director, refused to explain why the company needed an indemnity.
He said: “We’re not actually disclosing any of the details around any of the aspects of that agreement and specifically around the liability clauses.”
Clearly they must think there will be future issues and need to protect themselves from providing the so called vaccine way earlier than is normally the case.
That they not actually disclosing any of the details is very concerning indeed. Considering Pfizer’s track record and huge fines. If it all go’s pear shape then tuff for us, bill gate thinks at least 700k will die directly from vaccine rollouts maybe more and thats ok..
Infact more not at risk people will die from the vaccine than from the virus and the old need to have jacked up levels of it, his words not mein and people wonder why some think it’s not actually a vaccine.
Plus
Professor Jonathan Van-Tam made the sombre claim at the Downing Street press conference on Wednesday, sparking an immediate response from the Prime Minister.
Discussing the prospects of life getting back to normal, Prof Van-Tam suggested habits may have to change.
He said: “I don’t think we are going to eradicate coronavirus ever.
“I think it’s going to be with humankind forever.
“I think we may get to a point where coronavirus becomes a seasonal problem.
“I don’t want to draw too many parallels with flu, but, possibly, that is the kind of way we would learn to live with it.”
The medical expert said there would be no moment to celebrate, like the scenes seen at the end of the world wars.
He said: “Do I think there will be a big moment where we have a big party and throw off our masks? No I don’t.”
Now seeing as coronavirus has been around since humans been on the planet and is one of the many things we call the common cold and it reappears every year in many often slightly different forms so it can stay alive, it will be here forever and we been living with it forever already..
Some strains are worse than others but on a whole nature preys on the weak and any virus needs a host. It’s like saying we can eradicate bateria and it’s already is seasonal. like the nhs getting overrun that’s seasonal also, but it seems he don’t realise this or they’d of plannned for it.. and it’s no wonder with these people running the show people like me have huge concerns of the actual motives behind the dribble they spouting out and they the so called experts. you meant to trust. like how bed capicity is down 13k in the nhs from last year because of social distancing. Creating the overruning of the system imo.

LouMy dear partner lost his life to covid 6 months ago – I hope no one has to go through what he did and what I am.
I 100% fully support anyone that wishes to have the jab but I am cautious myself personally for my own thoughts and opinions. I read in the news that the gov will be paying anyone 120k if they suffer severe side effects and/or become severely disabled from the vaccine which makes me wonder if they aren’t 100% certain if it is fully safe. I hope I haven’t trodden on any toes here and I wish you all good health (as possible) please wear masks and be safe, if anyone here does have the jab then I sincerely hope it is pain free and keeps you protected. Best wishes everyone, remember to tell your loved ones how very precious they are to you…x

LouI wan it on the daily mail, they have also said that the mass testing in Liverpool is proving to be unsafe as they missed half of the infectious cases and what’s more worrying is the departments of health admits it’s use of swabs is “outside the instructions for use”

December 5, 2020 at 10:14 am #131258On Wednesday we popped out to buy some Christmas presents for the Grandson, several people were still shopping in store with either no masks or mask only partially over their mouths, in BM store several of the middle aged staff filling the shelf no mask or social distancing in any shape or form, no wonder we in the top 6 of the country, rant over.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
