There is a lot of knowledge amongst us, I exclude myself.
The COVID 19 is dominating the news:
How worried should we be?
Will this be Spanish flu proportions or just another contained outbreak as SARS and MERS were?
Oh – and when will we start to see ‘Just in time’ manufacturing suffer?

We may, indeed, Brydo. But from what I read, mutations tend to be weaker over time – the Asian flu of the 1950s is still around but not the threat it was. Also an American report suggests Coronavirus is mutating more slowly than expected.
Obviously, no one knows. Only time will tell.
March 28, 2020 at 6:45 pm #110534Yes wigwam that’s my understanding also.

March 29, 2020 at 11:33 am #110582This is unofficial but at present some screwfix / builders merchants etc are still open, I have received a couple of emails in the last few days from accounts that I have, all saying they are to close on the 31st March. Some pre ordered deliveries may still be fulfilled. This may be coincidence but it may mean an announment that building sites etc are to close etc. And these sites going to be forced to close.
so if you’ve got that garden project or diy job to do. I would get your order in.

Stayed up late and got an Asda delivery slot, did my shopping and then, on checkout, received a message saying we don’t recognize your personal details and your town/city doesn’t exist. Gave up after 1 hour! Impossible to contact ADSA by phone, email or via facebook or twitter.

I had the same experience yesterday afternoon amending an Asda delivery due for today. I tried different methods of payment without joy. It eventually went through after I removed a large number of items from my trolley. The whole process was very stressful and took a couple of hours. Delivery arrived this morning, 21 items not avaialble including milk, but I have lots of breakfast cereal.
March 30, 2020 at 9:30 pm #110677It may not be everyone’s default choice, but Ocado seem to have opened up some delivery slots for tomorrow/Wednesday.

PhiljbI’m glad to say that my wife and I received a care package of loo roll, hand wash, shower gel and groceries, it was a big relief as the daughter who has been helping us came down with the cv and is now isolating her self.
stay safe everyone.March 31, 2020 at 10:22 am #110695That’s pants Philjb, I do hope it’s just like a bit of the flu for her and she’s over it in no time at all and can then be allowed to help you guys out again.
March 31, 2020 at 11:50 am #110708
PhiljbThanks vinalspin, yes so do we, all of a sudden it’s hits you. I though it’s ok we’ll be fine and then realise Bloody hell I can’t just pop out, something most people take for granted.
March 31, 2020 at 12:13 pm #110712Some here will remember I posted a link to a vid my daughter made while suffering from Coronavirus. She came down with it Monday two weeks ago and made her first venture out yesterday. Today she reckons to be fully recovered and is out foraging for supplies.
Let’s hope others we know here will have a similarly positive outcome.

March 31, 2020 at 1:08 pm #110722Best wishes to your daughter for a speedy recovery Philjb.
Good news about your daughter Wigwam. Thanks for sharing the good news with us, it cheers us all up to here about people recovering to full fitness. Cheers.
March 31, 2020 at 1:09 pm #110723The good thing is once you have had and recovered from the virus you are then immune and can’t pass it on from your breathing etc but you can still pick it up on things you touch and spread it to others that way, wearing gloves and washing your hands is the way to stay safe even after recovering from the virus.
It will get to a point where there will be a large number of the population who are like this and then hopefully it will start to spell the end of the spread.
