Calling All Fellow Tiguan Lovers?

Having just logged on to this fantastic forum I see that the new Tiguan is now available. I must say I’m personally buzzing and can’t wait to order mine in the new year.!!! I had a few questions and was wondering could you share your thoughts please.?

I’m 99% sure I’m going to go with the R-Line. I’m just not settled on a colour  it’s currently between soild white vs mother of pearl white. However because solid white is non metallic am I right in assuming that motability require you to choose metallic paintwork.?

Finally which petrol engines will be available.? I can only see the 150 bhp model but someone mentioned the 2.0 tsi is available also. As I’ve always driven 2.0 diesel engines, how have you found the overall performance? 150 bhp appears a little underpowered on paper so would really appreciate any opinions on this along with the questions above.

Sorry for the novel length post, and thanks for taking the time to read it.

Look forward to hearing from the VW BRIGADE / POSSE ???

I dont mean will they drop the AP alltogether. Just ‘knock off £500’ or something

It’s certainly possible. I had £449 taken off mine thanks to Dave in the Q4 offers thread. Like last time I was due to change I called my local VW dealer and of course, the salesman was full of ‘oh no, sir. We don’t make any money on Motability and can’t discount even if others are’.

I don’t know why I try with them still 😀

Best bet with Tiguan deals is Marshalls VW Oxford, they have traditionally offered £500/£250 off and will probably do so again if you mention Vertu are offering that deal. Hull is another area that springs to mind for Tiguan deals.

Tim thank you. I have dropped the Hereford a Email asking. I live in South Wales, so if there was £500 off up in Hull or up that way, you’d have to weigh up your time/fuel/hotel etc, you’re basically back to where you started. I’ll keep a eye out for sure ?

Chris, I possibly have a deal for you. Waiting on a call back and will let you know shortly. Are you more interested in the R-line, Elegence….?

Okay, Vicky at Vertu VW near Monmouth is willing to give you £449 off the AP on an in stock Tiguan. You’ll need to check stock with her but she’s confident they have both the Elegance and R-line available. Hope that helps.

I have called but she’s busy atm, I looked at their stock and noticed a 150 petrol.

Id prefer the 150 tdi 4 motion. But i’ll see what she says, thank you Tim. Very kind of you

Went for a test drive today in the petrol Rline. First impressions nice car, could see us going for a long drive in this. Seats very comfortable and supportive. Problem I have is the lack of power when compared to our current car, Bmwx1 25d. Put your foot down in the BMW and it responds. With the VW its all a bit slow. Might have something to do with the BHP. 150 vw compared to 227 BMW. Might have to stop being a boy racer and just chill. We are not due to change until 2022. (2year extension) by this time I hope there are more EV’s on the scheme. If not I could see myself in the tiguan.

Picked up my Elegance order today. It will never again be this clean.

Because I do not want to give up my Tiguan SEL, it is all that I want, in that it has a panoramic opening roof, Full KESSY, auto parking, DSG gearbox and paddles, all of the kit I need and an adjustable boot , rear seat squab, etc etc, I contacted Motability this morning ,by email ,and within an hour, I had a telephone reply /conversation confirming that I could extend my lease by up to two years , and this is now on my file, ready for the date in the new year when I will receive the renewal letter .

In the eMail, I had confirmed the mileage , currently 18000 plus, and a list of the extras fitted , and that the Tiguan SEL suited my needs, and frankly there was no problem – an easy and efficient service from Motability.

                                        Hi John.

I had watched so many you tube videos I told dealer he didn’t need to go through it all.

When you get your car the dealer will sync your car to Mercedes me,I did it through my phone when I got home.

Nick O’Leary videos on you tube are great and he goes through MBUX,Mercedes me and loads of other things and shortcuts .He works for Mercedes Poole and the videos are most useful .

                                        Andrew
