I’m already looking at options other than motability. In Scotland you can apply for an interest free loan of up to £25,000 repayable over a max of six years. There are rules relating to the purchase like it needs to be electric snd needs to be second hand, and one or two other bits and bobs. Ive been looking at the Polestar 2 and you can pick up a two year old second hand long range Polestar 2 for under £25,000 with less than 20,000 miles on the clock. Obviously you need to factor in insurance, maintenance etc but With second hand prices of BEVs so low it’s really bringing private purchase as an alternative to motability IMO.
£25,000 over 6 year = £79.91 week
But, unlike Motability, you own the car outright at the end so, in reality, I suspect that the true cost is well under half that amount.
