Why are people talking in absolutes? 80 percent of people HAVE? to be driving electric? They don’t, we can chose to drive whatever we like/need.
This is a target set out for manufacturers to meet, not a legal requirement for owners!
If the market demands ICE, they will have to provide it.
Rural owners with no driveways and no charging points available for many miles can’t and wont switch to electric.
Demand dictates supply, not the other way round. It’s even more relevant for disabled drivers.
