i have the tour on order 20/09/21. my order is still at status 10 and i have had various build weeks communicated to me in the system. I did start to think it was going to happen this year as I had a build week 39 that morphed into week 42 but then sat there for some months. I spoke to the dealer last week thinking maybe this is it and my status would changed to confirmed order (status 20) given we were only a month away and low and behold my new build week is 49. getting hold of an ID3 is like chasing a rainbow
I work in the car industry and its my understanding VW shutdown early December for Christmas. maybe this year is different given the amount of orders in backlog. or maybe its a way for VW to try and build up some buffer of components that are obviously effecting the build process in plant. for me it will mean that i take the lease of my Honda civic into its 5th year and if VW were to cancel my order i would have spent the best part of 15 months for nothing and then faced with the possibility that i would not get a replacement car before the 5 year elapsed on my current vehicle.
