@Georgie Am hoping you still look in here once in a while because… Latest Bryant & May out today; not a novel but a collection of Arthur’s interesting stuff about London: Bryant & May’s Peculiar London. Sadly, it has a certain finality about it; really do hope I’m wrong. My pessimism reinforced by Fowler’s other recent release, Hot Water, a standalone novel which is more an ifdunnit rather than a whodunnit. While as enjoyable as his other stuff, this book is a bit jerky, felt like it was written in bits, here and there. Something he wanted to get finished rather than wanting to write. As above, do, so, hope I am wrong.
And thank the gods for Dresden. Have staggered through a batch of very poor SF, so turned to Harry the wizard for relief. Not disappointed: Ghost Story is brilliant.
