Julie you are indeed an ev warrior no doubt, I have a bit more of a pragmatic take on electrification of cars in that I can see where hybrid cars can play a major role in the transition.
My daughter has just bought a Range Rover hybrid and has yet to use the engine. Her journeys are to and from work and are no more than 20 miles return.
So, although I know where your coming from, we have a long way to go before everyone can get a BEV that suits them.
