Good evening everyone, it’s my first time on this forum so please bear with me.

I attended an appointment with a Mercedes Benz dealership today with the intention of ordering a GLA 200 AMG Premium. At the time when  booking this appointment they asked me what car was I interested in.

Today I showed up only to be told that I can’t order the car as it is due a facelift i.e electric seats and I would have to wait until the 1st October as the price may or may not raise and they are not taking anymore orders for this particular model. I asked if there were any other GLA’s available and was told no. I would have to wait until the 1st October despite the cars being on the Motability website.

This would be my second time ordering a car via Motability, so I rang Motability whilst at the dealership to confirm if Mercedes was still on the scheme.

I am now totally confused as what to do. I feel like today was a wasted journey. Can anybody help as this is so confusing as why they would do this. Thank you

Hi Have you phoned around if a pre facelift car is in stock or cancelled order you maybe lucky if they are willing to do this for a Motability customer like me when I phoned every dealer in uk and on last try got my car ordered and now hope to get it in two weeks time after Adaptations fitted.

thats Mercedes stock answer as the salesmen dont care about motability , yes they have nice cars but customer services is awful . they just saved u from sitting in mercedes while they service your car and keep you waiting least hour each time

The salesperson said that no more ŵere being made until November. I can’t travel far, therefore ringing around is a no go.

When I arrived the salesperson didn’t seem to know the correct sizing of the boot for a GLA and directed me to an A Class, which is completely different in sizing.

i am just fed up with the lack of respect some of these dealers have for people with disabilities. Once they hear Motability they start giving you one word answers to any questions you ask them.

Just extend your lease until your car is available again.

Its what happens during an upgrade. But Mercedes left the scheme for a few years, they are not a reliable car, even with Renault engines in them.

Their cars are not that great nowadays, most other manufacturers have equalled or surpassed them with build quality.

@Ioniq My current vehicle is already on an extension and I am ready to renew. I just wish they told me before I got there!

I am deep down worrying about a possible  huge price increase in the next quarter (1st October).

I learnt about the Renault engines on this forum. There is so much great information on here.

I am also looking at the Kia Sportage. Do you know or could you recommend any mid SUV’s (ICE, as can’t do electric) preferably with a  large boot?

                      Would be much appreciated.

The Sportage or Tuscon are quite good. But its useable size you would need to check each one personally, if you had a chair and needed a lift or whatever. There is the Suzuki Across which is a badged Honda RAV4.  It gives you a starting point to go around a few garages and check them out yourself?

Probably a lot more people can chip in with suggestions, a lot on here have done extensive research on crossovers.

There is the Suzuki Across which is a badged Honda CRV.

Surely you mean a rebadged Toyota RAV4?
