We ordered a Skoda Kodiaq in February and still have no build date. At the time the Tarraco FR wasn’t on the scheme (I think!) and I wanted this model for the memory seats and powered tailgate.
I noticed the FR is now on the scheme so I’m contemplating cancelling the Kodiaq and ordering one of these if we like it. I guess I only have until the end of December to get the £750 back too.
I’ve found some old threads about the Tarraco but nothing recent. What is the wait time for these does anyone know?
I would also probably order the 2.0 diesel as I’ve always had concerns the 1.5 petrol wouldn’t be enough in the Kodiaq. The test drive was ok but only 30 minutes long and it was a little slow but that’s not surprising given the size of the car.

You have all of next year for the £750. The promotion was extended for new customers to the end of 2024. It is still available for returning customers on their next vehicle regardless of when that happens.

December 5, 2023 at 10:26 pm #250922The Kodiq has rejoined the scheme today, to shift existing stock vehicles, ready for the the 2024 version. The only Trim offered is the SEL but available in both petrol and diesel. It may be benificial to you you, if you rang around a few dealers and see if you can bag a stock car, rather than waiting any longer or be back of queue ordering a Tarraco.
December 5, 2023 at 11:35 pm #250929@MFillingham That’s great. I had seen it was available next year for new customers but didn’t realise existing ones are still eligible.
@kezo I did look earlier but the Kodiaq still hadn’t been put back on. It must’ve happened just after I looked! That’s annoying the 1.5 is £500 cheaper than when we ordered. I had asked the dealer previously if they would change it should the advanced payment drop and he said no.Would anywhere really have stock of the Kodiaq. Why are wait times so long if they do have stock. I don’t have time to start ringing round dealers but might send a few emails tomorrow during work.
Really when we ordered the Kodiaq I wanted the diesel for such a big car but that wasn’t available. It’s £500 more than the Tarraco diesel so I may email the dealer and see if we can change the order.
How are orders cancelled, with the dealer or can you do it through motability too?
December 6, 2023 at 12:05 am #250930Have a nose on Autotrader or Skoda’s stock locator to see if any are within your willing travelling distance. Email dealer and see if the will hold it for a small deposit why you cancel the one on order.
To cancel, Visit or email the dealer telling the you are cancelling the order for “x” vehicle. Its a simple process.
To change fuel type, just visit the dealer and tell them you want to cancel the 1.5 and go for diesel. This however, may be a problem if your dealer hasn’t a diesel in stock, as no factory orders are allowed.
Be prepared to widen your distance, you stand a better chance of finding one in stock.
The Tarraco is essentially the same car and would beable to place a factory order. Worth searing on Autotrader etc for any avalable stock.
December 6, 2023 at 8:46 am #250952Thanks Kezo, that’s very helpful.
I didn’t know Skoda have a stock list. There are 10 diesel 4×4 available. Two of those are in Belfast and most of the others a fair distance away. I have emailed 3 of the closer ones so will see but with that many left I’m not expecting to get one.
There are 29 1.5 petrol Kodiaqs on the list too. Our dealer has none in stock so I’m assuming they won’t or maybe can’t change the advanced payment on ours to the lower amount as it’s a factory order.
It could be worth us sticking with a 1.5 but trying to get a stock car now rather than wait any longer. We do 10k – 12k miles a year and that will probably increase a little over the next few years, which is why I would prefer a diesel.
If we can’t get one then I think we’ll probably go and look at the Tarraco but like you say it’s more or less the same car so should be fine.
December 6, 2023 at 8:58 am #250917The 2.0 diesel Kodiaq is now available, I,ve seen an advert with them in stock.
December 6, 2023 at 9:43 am #250958I’ve had a reply from one dealer. I didn’t realise there is a 150ps and 200ps diesel. It’s only the 150 that’s available on motability and theirs is the 200. There are 3 on the Skoda stock list and 2 are in Belfast!
So it’s stick with the petrol or order the Tarraco with the diesel engine.
December 6, 2023 at 9:44 am #250959I got the Kodiaq 1.4TSi when it came out in 2017 and never had a single issue with it, either pulling away or cruising on the motorway. So unless you plan to drive it like you stole it, or using it for house removals, the 1.5TSi will be an excellent car for you.
I changed the Kodiaq for the Tarraco FR Sport back in 2021 as it has everything included. It’s not as well built as the the Kodiaq, and not as comfortable a ride, but then Seat is the sportier branch of VAG. The 1.5TSi is more than enough for the size of vehicle in my opinion.
On the Kodiaq Facebook forum it looks like the Kodiaqs and being delivered quicker now, probably due to the new model coming out in the new. So I would say wait for your Kodiaq to arrive. Plus the fact that Seat will no longer produce cars from 2025.
December 6, 2023 at 1:49 pm #250988@Markymate I did come across your thread and it was an interesting read, especially as you’ve owned both cars. I know Seat can look a bit cheap sometimes but I’d have to see one in the flesh to form my own opinion on that. Interesting about the ride being firmer and I guess 19″ wheels won’t help either.
Most of the time there are 3 adults in the car, sometimes more. We also go away a lot and have the boot full! Our current car is an X1 with the 2.0 turbo diesel engine so it pulls very well. Getting an even larger car with a 1.5 petrol engine is what’s been concerning me. But there was very little choice at the time for a car of that size with a diesel engine. We average around 40mpg in the X1 and I feel we’ll end up getting less with a 1.5 petrol.
All Seat dealers are being rebranded to Cupra and some cars are going to other VAG groups like VW and Skoda (according to a relative in the trade) so servicing shouldn’t be an issue when they do go.
December 7, 2023 at 8:00 pm #251100Thanks @kezo you saved us £500 today! ??
After looking at Skoda’s stock list I sent a few emails out and a dealer 90 minutes away had a Kodiaq (petrol) in stock. Although it’s currently at the port in Germany.
After a couple of emails we agreed to have it and needed to pay a deposit to secure the car. My partner tried calling the dealer earlier but the salesman wasn’t there. She was then at work so missed his call and emails but someone else was going there at 3pm to potentially buy the car. She called him back after 3pm when she finished work and thankfully the customer hadn’t turned up. So deposit paid and we’re going there Saturday to sign for it. That’s assuming the dealer we ordered with originally cancels it tomorrow. They haven’t replied to our email so a call might be needed in the morning!
We should have the car before the New Year or early January at the latest. So £500 better off and finally a new car coming. We’ve had our BMW over 5 years now.

Great news Rich.
Any issues cancelling with your current dealer, speak with Motability saying you have found one in stock and your have trouble canceling your order and your going to sign for new one on Saturday after paying deposit. Mb will likely cancel it for you 🙂
December 9, 2023 at 10:58 am #251199Kodiaq diesel on Tuesday off Saturday. They must have got rid of them all.
December 9, 2023 at 11:13 am #251203You just got to ask the dealership to search if there are any available.
You got to be quick and willing to travel.
I was fortunate with my car, the sister dealership had my Ioniq in stock and wasnt very far away and they transported it to my local dealership.
But the Kodiak cars will go like hotcakes an you got to be quick.
I bagged an Ioniq 5 Ultimate for £1500.
December 9, 2023 at 10:04 pm #251227We did the 90 minute drive this morning to the dealer and 10 minutes after arriving everything was finalised. Our experience with this dealer was much better than the last.
Car has now left the port in Germany and is on the way over so not long to wait.
Chose to have the £750 taken off the AP and with the remainder of the good condition bonus the total will be £1699, which I’m very happy with.
@belfast4 There were only 3 diesels on the Skoda stock list anyway. There are still 24 petrols on the list.December 9, 2023 at 11:30 pm #251229We did the 90 minute drive this morning to the dealer and 10 minutes after arriving everything was finalised. Happy to hear you were able to finalise paperwork today. Did you old dealer cancel your order in the end or did you have to ring Motability.
December 10, 2023 at 7:44 am #251230The sales guy didn’t reply to the email so called him and conveniently he was off the day we sent it! He cancelled the order and sent a confirmation email. He did ask if it was another Kodiaq we were getting and which dealer it was coming from.
The new dealer started the application before we traveled to ensure there would be no problems when we arrived. It’s abit crazy we had to do a 3 hour round trip just to fill a form in but that’s down to motability making the rules, not the dealer.
December 10, 2023 at 11:57 am #251238All worth it in the end Rich 🙂
December 10, 2023 at 12:44 pm #251242Well done, Rich, you won’t be disappointed, it’s a great car.
My new lease date is 30th of December so I’m going to extend for 2 years, and hope the new Kodiaq comes on the scheme towards the end of 2024. Did a virtual tour with Skoda the other evening and was very impress. No specs or prices yet but he said it won’t be much more than the currant model, so can’t see why it won’t come on at some stage.
December 11, 2023 at 1:55 pm #251294Looking forward to it, especially the electric memory seats and larger boot. I’ve loved the BMW X1 but it’s definitely time for a change after 5 years.
The only thing I’m not sure about is the virtual cockpit. The Kodiaq we test drove nearly a year a go was an older model without it.
Also, a dealer has another 1.5 petrol available, they emailed me earlier but I’ve started a new thread with the details.
December 11, 2023 at 2:14 pm #251296I have the Atca 1.5 petrol manual with the digital cockpit.
Consumption around the doors is 27-35mpg on a run at 50 around 40-45mpg. The digital cockpit is very nice, only complaint is it randomly resets the trip computer and changes the display from my usual setting of showing average mpg to range., could be one a month or 3 times in a week.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
December 11, 2023 at 4:15 pm #251303The virtual cockpit is great with various customisable options, such as 2 round dials and consumption details in the middle, similar to the analogue setup.
December 15, 2023 at 11:03 pm #251599Ordered my Kodiaq in Feb and just had a call it’s in the country and should be here next week, then just my adaptions to be fitted, will have another call next week for when I can collect.
December 18, 2023 at 12:01 pm #251695@kezo The cockpit does look good from that video, I love stuff like that, it’s the Mrs who won’t be so sure but I’m it’ll grow on her!
@riget We ordered in January and still didn’t have a build date. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been that much longer but the original dealer was getting slack with his updates on the cars progress.December 18, 2023 at 3:53 pm #251723Anyone know if the digital display speedo readout can be changed easily from KMH to MPH and vice versa on the virtual cockpit?
Some of the old non digital multi-function display on VW, Skoda and SEAT would come delivered in KMH only and needed plug in equipment to change from KMH to MPH.

Easily done in the settings – units – click on MPH change to KMH 🙂
