Good to hear Sigma – what colour do you go for 😁👍
The other thing Teejay that I find very useful is the turning circle – very noticeable when reversing into the drive – yes – I did get memory parking out of my system but concluded as I am in my seventies keeping my skills by doing it myself is the better option – I will however try the app to remotely move the car back or forwards – I need doors wide to haul myself in or out so if I ever get squeezed in it will be useful.
The 9.3m turning circle I find particularly useful on narrow roads with parking on both sides and you are constantly having to swing in to gaps for cars coming in the opposite direction – enjoy your discovery learning.
😁👍👍Teejay – I hope all went well and you are home with your Elroq – it’s a bit of a Tec fest, but I’m sure you will love it – things to learn and try, but a great car and very practical – if like me, you will keep discovering new stuff about the car and conclude – it just works and sensible – Enjoy 👍👍
Not sure about the sleep but 🤔😂
what spec and colour have you gone for?
MFillingham – I agree with all the points you make – but I suspect the majority will be bullied into this – as for me – I will wait until it is imminent before making my mind up.
I detest any sort of bullying, but it is not just me others would be effected if I hadn’t got a car and yes I could buy a second hand of the Motability scheme – but I would have to do the maths – so not gonna do my head in – until if and when.Just supposing tho you wanted to promote driverless cars so the passenger was never responsible – now who do we know that might be in favour of that 🤔😳😂
I don’t have any idea of time frame – but I assume they would have to give reasonable notice – so if you haven’t heard – it’s likely to be some time yet.
I have to confess I have never felt or needed to read the Motability contract in detail other than general insurance that might effect me.It’s difficult not to be cynical – the usual solution and the majority suffer in order to try and get a small minority.
It really does smack of
Aldous Huxley ‘s Brave New World
So my understanding is this is for 30 and under – new or existing on scheme.
Already seems very marmite – if they then pushed for over 30’s it would seem very much a shot in the foot.
How long before the powers that be want it to be a money maker pushed out to all motorists.Maybe it should include cyclists – some of the – all be it a minority -idiots I’ve encountered!!
Does that mean it’s taken the best of the black box and made it into an app with extras – yes this is me trying to understand – not trying to be clever 🤔
It would be interesting to know how much testing has taken place, time and sample size.
A couple of things come to mind
How easy will it be to extend and abuse this – bug – er tracking device for our benefit and the safety of all 😳
Not sure it will effect those who abuse system anyway ie no insurance etc.
I am amazed I haven’t heard of this before – especially with all the free speech noise at the moment.
Ok – please correct me if me if I wrong – but if I understand this correctly – this is coming in for under 30’s to check their driving .
So how long before over 60’s and then oh! – we might as well do it for everybody – a bit too “Brave New World” for me – is this happening or just a proposal?Agreed Kezo – I’m in my 70’s and am aware that reflexes are bound to slow with age – however I have been rear ended once and shunted into whilst parked but have never caused an accident in the 50 plus a lot years I have been on motorbike or cars.
But I have become more aware of potential hazards as I have become older and more experienced – I still drive at a sensible speed – not dangerously slow – but I have definitely avoided a few accidents because I have been ready for bad driving coming towards me ie many occasions people jump lights – the days of a fast get away are gone because of this – people partly on wrong side of road on blind bends etc etc – so experience with age should be valued too.Ok – that’s new to me – never had it mentioned.
Many years ago – I rode motorcycles – FJ1200 – I underwent the advanced driving for several weeks – taught by police riders – we were encouraged to break the speed limit briefly on occasions for safer overtakes etc.My point – there are occasions now where to do 35 in a 30 limit to allow 1.5m wide overtake of cyclists is the safer option – especially when there are impatient cars behind you – it takes common sense out of the equation!!
Interesting – if it’s proven to work without error and it’s the same for everyone then it will be hard to say no without it appearing you want to get away with dodgy driving – I wonder what the initial incentives will be – probably as you suggested – lower insurance.
is it already being trialled – I suspect so and when might it start to be implemented.
I have never been aware of Motability encouraging the black box or camera – so presumably they wouldn’t for this 🤔Ok – so I had to search exactly what this is as I assumed it would be different for different manufacturers.
Wasn’t easy to come to any particular conclusion.
If it is a system to support my driving style I would be all right with that – I currently have a car that will break if it suspect a collision etc. – but taking over more – I would need some serious convincing – I hope I have understood your question correctly 👍Good morning all – just got back from a short journey – just under 10 miles – I am part of the ohme test scheme so often plug the car in when it dose not really need it.
The battery was 100%, in eco mode and in B drive – no noticeable braking until I was on my way back.
So unlike the Kona that I drove on full paddle braking that would brake if battery was full or not – the Elroq appears to be smart enough to only apply B driving mode when there is room in the battery for the regen to go.As I like some braking regen I will change ohme app to charge to 80% – I assume then B drive will apply whenever I drive it and only charge to full when I have a long trip planned.
Interesting Kezo – just told them cuz I checked the car again when I got home from first getting it and thought it was missing – rang and told them – they agreed and said sorry come any time to get it – I was thinking money when I hand the car back.
Don’t know about you but I struggle to get my socks on without a device. So would be phoning- HELP very quickly 😂😂👍
My journey today was to go back to the Skoda dealer to get my tyre repair kit that was missing from the Elroq – they were kind enough to give me one but apparently Skoda no longer include this – not sure this is true across all Skoda, just EVs or just Elroq.
Sigma the Kona was a lovely car – but we decided we needed something a bit bigger, especially for back seat passengers – 9 grandchildren ain’t getting any smaller 😂😂
I took a shot of the Kona average literally minutes before i swopped it – it was tempting to hang on to it a bit longer – but as the Elroq is no longer available I’m glad I didn’t.

Hi Sigma – the first pic is my journey today with the way I’m driving more settled – A/c on but fan on low Eco and drive in B setting – mixed roads.
The picture of the 3 weeks I have had the car includes all modes and basically learning about the car – so sport, paddles etc
I would expect it to average out more – so my guess 4.2 – with winter preconditioning whilst plugged in – but I will continue to give honest updates – with proof 😂😂👍
This picture is mixed discovery learning – various modes – mostly a/c on

Had Elroq 3 weeks today .
pic – is today’s journey I have just got back from 50% A3 70 mph – 50% country and urban, a/c on Eco mode

Something else I’ve learned – cannot do two pics this is pic oneHad Elroq 3 weeks today .
