I googled it and from a non car persons perspective it looked like the B4 is quicker from 0-60 than the B3.
My order says B3 and online it says it’s cheaper 🤷♀️ Was there the option to order a B3 or B4 at the time? Currently it’s called a B3P online, what ever the P means! Could be Plus
Robert88 – I’ve learnt a lot during this process! Originally when I walked into Volvo I was expecting a stock car which was suggested over the phone. The dealer only told me it had to be a factory order once we had filled in the paperwork and he went off to his office. This was his first motability order on the 4th December. He then quoted 3 month lead time. I then thought, oh all cars must be factory orders for motability. Now I realise you can get quick cars from other dealers.
As I had no transport I should have walked away then as I’d been quoted 1 month from Lexus ( thought this would have turned into factory order on ordering) and I’d removed VW because the automatically quoted 7 months.I didn’t want to wait 8 months with hire car, taxis and standing on packed trains 🤷♀️
MrsL83 – Yes we are paying ourselves because it’s our first Motability order in 20 years! Years ago we had an XTrail (3000ap then!) on Motability for a year and it was removed because DLA changed criteria for the higher rate. We were in Yorkshire then on the Lancashire border. Such as pain had to buy the exact same second hand car and colour to get our young daughter into a vehicles without a meltdown.
About 2018 they changed back to the original rules of mental capacity, So I’m hoping the scheme will make life cheaper ( every car we own has cost a fortune!)and they don’t change the assessments again.
Think our nearest Volvo garage would have been Preston or Bradford maybe?.
Well guys, today I had zero communication off Volvo… anyone in shock? No reply to my very concerning emails about My car not being built yet, and bother I ordered, and being promised it this month!! Anyone any good news to share? Or any news? 🙂

I’m just resigned to waiting till end of July but if they don’t give me the £750 off I might canx but what would I buy instead with similar ap and instant delivery? 🤷♀️ Maybe someone else cancelled Volvo in a different colour!
What build date did you get? Me & UncJ got the exact same 😒 Im not CXL it’s want I really want, and nothing else comes close unless Merc GLA came on, I suppose. But then it’s waiting again, I would really think now that our seats are standard you really won’t have to pay the 750£ xx
My build came through around 14th June from 4th December order but should arrive around 9th July. Seems a bit quick on delivery perhaps they are flying it over and drop it at Gloucester!! They need to tint the windows too.
Realised I’ve just driven the Mercedes GLA for a week as the hire car I’ve had. Enjoyed it once I became used to the automatic lever on the wheel! But it was very low at the front and I dragged it over a sleeping policeman 😮 luckily hire company couldn’t tell.

Oh no, so sorry MrsL83, real facts have been hidden from us all x What do you think you will do? I’ve not seen that screen shot but expect mine to be a My25 now.
I visited my local Volvo dealer last Friday after the cars had returned to the Motability scheme and had a very informative conversation with the Volvo Motability Specialist. He did not know Volvo Cars were back on the scheme so had to make some phone calls to Volvo to find out!! He explained that the delivery / order problems were due to an IT issue with Volvo which has now been resolved. Basically Motability cars are ordered on a different system which was not synchronising with the Volvo new car factory order system, this meant that after the Volvo Dealer had placed the order they had no way of finding out if the car had been allocated to the factory for production. He also stated that there were further delays due to the factory having shut for retooling of the 25 model year cars and would only be resuming production in late May. He also confirmed new factory orders are going to take 4-6 months for the XC40 Mild Hybrid and 3-4 months for the EX40 / EC40 Electric (Yes, even though it shows an XC40 / C40 Recharge on the Motability website any cars ordered now would be the new 2025 model EX / EC versions). I was also told that all Motability cars have to be supplied as factory orders. I would advise anyone without a definite delivery date to chase their dealer as there is a possibility their car may not have been ordered on the factory!!

Only today has the dealer given more precise info although his w/c 14 June is a Friday 🤷♀️ Think I’ll be on 7 1/2 -8 months delivery timescale way from the 3 months quoted on ordering!Out of interest who makes the decision on the added £750 seats price from December? Is it Motability or Volvo? Don’t know who I should be asking to drop the price? Any advice? Also with the ap now so much higher don’t want them saying take it or leave it!

I’ve just received an email from our dealer with an advised build date 😳W/c 14th June and possible delivery July 9th July 😮 Asking what we want to do now 🤷♀️ Ordered 4th Dec so how can it take 6 months to get on the production line? Grrrr
So I’ve been keeping a little secret. 🤫 I received a call extremely late on Thursday evening to say the original order car that had arrived I was allowed to receive. Didn’t say anything apart from when could I collect? So today at showroom opening I was there ready and waiting. Lo and behold transaction went smoothly. It is the MY24 as I ordered with the 360 camera. Rear window tints. I paid my ap had an extremely quick demo and left toot sweet. He did state my lower ap order was on its way and they were arriving steadily all motability orders. Wouldn’t elaborate any further as to the whole motability fiasco. I so hope you all receive the same news very soon and can collect yours.

Also bet I can’t get the £750 knocked off for the upgraded seats as they went to be standard in January!That’s brilliant news for you! 😀 Easiest way to tell the spec instantly is if grey cloth seats it’s a MY24. Black microfibre and it’s a MY25. To be honest I’d highly doubt dealers have any MY25 cars yet for motability orders as it’s only a few weeks since the factory would have been retooled so not enough time to build/ship/deliver.
Ive just been on the Motability chat messenger and this time they’ve offered to ask the Volvo account manager. This is a change from last week where they just said I could cancel.

Like a build date and maybe a suggested delivery 😀 can only wish!Hi everyone🙂 I had a call from my dealer to say my car has arrived at the dealership.. my order was placed on 19/12 an xc40 dark petrol in silver with a spare wheel /protection pack mats .. he said mine is one of his first motability to be given out … Like Steph I’m shocked as I’m never first usually .. wanted to have me in on Wednesday to collect but I can’t do that day so I’ve arranged next Saturday .. all my motability paperwork reflects this change .. insurance documents raised ready to sign with number plate etc so seems legit .. I’m grateful to you all for keeping me informed as learnt more here from you than my dealer which is clearly wrong on all kinds of levels & I will tell him this when I see him ..I will post proof of life when I do collect next week .. I am hoping you all get positive calls this week too 🤞plus thanks UncJ as will definitely look at what my spec is as wouldn’t have thought to look when I pick up ☺️

That’s funny!!! I have no clue about cars either, but from what you’ve stated, I think you’ve ordered the petrol, mild hybrid!!! However, probably best to check with your dealership. Yes-from memory-originally, when it first came on-the AP for the petrol mild hybrid was 1999. Then, on 010124, the AP decreased to 1499. That was the base price and I didn’t order any factory fitted extras. I ordered a MY24 spec vehicle which I personally preferred, as I valued the 360 camera and preferred the standard seat fabric. The MY25 spec had the BLIS/CTA system (instead of the 360 camera) and also came with upgraded seating material and 19” wheels (MY24 has 18”) The above is from my memory so please check with your dealership for actual confirmation.
So if the seats were upgraded I’ve paid too much (£750) and ap decreased (£500) grrr
I didn’t look at Motability website again after the order as no idea prices went up and down.
Don’t think the dealer is talking to us my husband is hassling him with emails! See what we end up with as we can’t cancel and reorder at a higher price 🤷♀️I’m learning so much from you all- thank you 😀
When i ordered only the fully electric was available, the ap was 3499. Now the AP for both petrol and electric is same. @nshaw MY24 means Model year 24. They change the spec every year slightly. Depending on when produced you will get the MY24 or MY25. Thesea re the differences https://www.paulrigbygroup.co.uk/news/volvomodelyear25/. Most notably the 360 camera has gone but the blind spot function and some traffic function has been included
Ah, thank you I had no idea. So presumably I signed up for a My24 on the 4th December. The dealer showed me the 360 camera giving me a lift back! Needed it for a street parking.

All this talk of My24 and 25 I had no idea it related to my order!!Sunflower12 did the ap decrease on the Petrol hybrid Jan 1st? I paid £1999 on the 4th Dec but added the upgraded seat and tinted windows and get the £750 contribution.
Also I’m lost what a My24 is as I thought it was full electric 🤷♀️ or maybe I’ve ordered a Petrol and not a petrol-hybrid. I’m not a car person lol!!

Yes UncJ probably sunk with all the December orders. There must be others who ordered through our dealer too.
Not sure they’ve answered my email asking about the same car they currently have there.

There’s the Motability show at the NEC this weekend.Just had an email reply from dealer and told now *hopefully* expecting my car at the end of July!! 🤬 Will it even come then? Fed right up and will now look elsewhere, ridiculous situation.

You’re right UncJ not one drop of info supplied. I don’t understand how some people have build dates 🤷♀️ Were we just not told incase we cancelled as they were far past the advised delivery date? At least a build date would have meant I wouldn’t have sold our other car in December. Well it didn’t meet our needs but I would have driven it for however many months to have transport. Mind you it had been in the car garage for months having a new hybrid battery fitted at great expense, hence deciding motability was a cheaper option!
In my search for another car option today all I’ve see is bright orange or lime green!!
Obviously different makes and no one else wants them either 😂🤷♀️ All the Volvo colours are great, did contemplate changing my choice to grey on my way home.The worst thing is they have my exact car sat at my dealership (grrr) looking at their list.
