Polestar and Mazda MX-5 are welcome additions for sure
But no BYD Seal? I can’t understand why.
Thanks for the advice Kezo, I did suspect that was the case and that all should be fine in terms of having no major issue.
I’ll decide asap then speak to the dealer and be upfront and honest if I go for it. I appreciate you taking the time to reply!
I’ve currently got the Ioniq 5 N Line S on order and the £1000 Reduction on AP has got me seriously considering the BMW i4.
I had my eye on it before but couldn’t justify the £3k difference – now with it only being a £2k difference and a slight beneficial change in my own financial circumstances I’m considering treating myself a little.
Give Hyundai customer service a call and they can tell you which ship your car will be on and you can track it. The dealer has less info about the car delivery than I managed to find myself.
if I use the online track my order on the Hyundai website my order says delayed until September too. However Hyundai told me my car is on the ship “Morning Lisa” which I can use various online marine trackers to see that it’s currently near Spain and due in the UK in about a week. (So definitely much sooner than September!)
RWD in electric cars is a completely different ball game to ICE vehicles, they’re nothing alike so that’s a shame @gilders

The Ioniq 5 spaffs all over the Mach-E, the Scenic, the Grandland, the “capri” and the Ariya.
The only cars you’ve listed that come close are the Enyaq and Elroq, but the HI5 yet again trumps them IMO so the choice seems easy here
Oh no and I’ve gone and ordered one for July
Hyundai reckon a 2% ICCU failure rate but there are a few people who are convinced it’s more.
It didn’t put me off ordering my own N Line S but I may yet live to regret that haha.
If I do get major issues with the ICCU I’d be very strongly considering handing it back though honestly which would be a shame as I love the car otherwise.
Naturally with the flood of cars coming (and due to continue coming) from China I only see EVs getting cheaper and cheaper, but it won’t be quick.
Can’t wait to get my first EV delivered from the scheme. Will be saving £300+ a month in fuel by charging at home – people often forget these huge savings when taking into account the upfront cost of an EV. Thanks to this benefit my lease effectively becomes nearly “free”.
£5 to charge at home or £60+ for a tank of fuel. EV ownership is a no brainer if you can charge at home. If you can’t I’d argue it’s rubbish due to insane public charging prices.
No matter how cheap Brent Crude gets you won’t see petrol drop more than 20p a litre which isn’t even worth thinking about really.
April 26, 2025 at 12:12 am in reply to: Well, that was a shock to the system, I can tell you! #304796I knew you’d get a couple of nonsense replies to this post from disgruntled at change old heads but you’re spot on haha.
I tried this and they weren’t having it at all.
Couldn’t really be arsed to go all the way to the ombudsman as to be honest there was a car I wanted on the scheme anyway I just didn’t want to order right there and then.
Seems ridiculous to be honest because you could very easily game the system anyway by ordering a car with a very long lead time and cancelling before delivery as you get to keep the existing car during that period but it would be slightly screwing over the dealer.
In the end I took a 4 month extension (all they’d give me after arguing the toss) and have ordered a car likely to take another 5+ months further to that. (Ioniq 5 N Line S)
Went to a local Hyundai garage today and even they told me they genuinely had no clue of the upcoming prices as of yet
I’m very disappointed to see certain comments on this thread.
While it’s doubtless true that there are people with Depression&Anxiety who are taking the mickey – how can anyone say these conditions when genuinely serious aren’t disabling or a disability?
Disabled people gatekeeping what ‘true’ disability is really quite grotesque to me, there was a time autism spectrum disorder wouldn’t have been considered to be a true disability either. It’s a very crabs in a bucket mentality.
