I agree which is why I said I wouldn’t pay anymore than 2k(ish) which is still more than I paid 🙂
Just found the post on here from March 2025,
Listing price in motability was £6995, most Cupra dealerships at that moment were offering them for £1695 with 2 dealerships offering them £0 ap (in stock cars only).
I managed to get my local dealership to do it for £695 (1k discount from what most dealerships were offering).
So £695 not £599 sorry. If you click on my name you can see were I’ve engaged and see the topic 👍

After the discounts at the time that’s what I paid. Was one of the main reasons I went for it at the time, seemed like a bargain compared to other cars/prices.
The AP since has just gone up and up to were it is now which is crazy! Would never pay nearly 7k for a car without 360 cameras and heated seats as standard.
I really hate posts like this. There’s enough scaremongering everywhere else without having to see it on here as well!
Do what I did and delete all social media. Takes a while to get out of the habit but trust me, your life is a lot easier and happier once you stop reading irrelevant peoples opinions! (Forums like this are great though).
Whether we agree with it or not, I think a line does have to be drawn otherwise it would open the floodgates to misuse of the scheme. Unfortunately I can’t totally disagree with motabilitys decision.
@Bandit Maybe they’ll be introducing the v2 onto the scheme but with the original ap of the v1 being around 6.5k I would imagine the v2 would be north of that considering the extras the v2 has!
Nope, nearly every Cupra dealership has them on offer until the end of March for £1695 advance payment.
Theres also 2 dealerships (Poole and Kent) that are doing it for nil ap. @DumfriesDik
@kezo I’ve driven the Tavascan and ID5 and they drive and feel very different, not to mention the difference in quality of materials the Tavascan has over the VW.
Im aware they do share a lot of parts etc but it’s definitely not an ID5 in disguise. For the relatively low advanced payment you can currently get it for, I think it’s right up there as one of the best EV’s you can currently order.
I don’t see the point in causing unnecessary worry and stress.
We don’t know what’s going to happen, simple as that. Until any changes are proposed then there’s little reason to discuss the unknown.
January 24, 2025 at 9:25 pm in reply to: Do you feel dealers see Motability customers as a lesser customer? #296573In my experience 100% we get treated differently.
Wanted to test drive a Skoda a few months ago and didn’t receive a single call back after leaving my details 3 times and being promised a call.
Over the last 2 weeks I’ve contacted Cupra via the online form and left details by phone twice and no call back. Then decided not to mention I was a motability customer and just like that within 24 hours I have a test drive set up for next week.
Doubt it’s a coincidence.
