Hi, i just spoke to VW dealer, they have ordered the car and said it will be a March 2021 build so we have some time yet

It would be different if the engines were different, but they are all the same in the Touran 1.5tsi Range. This is why i opted for the SEL with DSG, adds another £200 but to me thats ok for me, il be driving the car for next 3 years so want it to be a relaxing 3 year drive. the SE model i test drove had a few optional extras, like electric tailgate, i did ask if that was standard but the salesman said it was extra. I notice it has the tyre pressure sensor too where it shows the exact tyre pressure for each tyre. Brochure says this is extra. As you say the “standard” spec could change, i guess id have to wait and see.
Hi Antec Your reference to the “tyre monitor” brought back horrid memories of my previous car, the Golf Match fitted with the standard tyre monitor, that gave countless false alarms. I did mention about this on a VW owners forum but very few had had the same problem but it was really annoying on the motorway going on holiday and you have to come off the motorway to find it to be a false alarm but seems I just had a car with a faulty sensor and shouldn’t be a problem in future if and when I return to the VW stable. I also brought this up with Motability after they had an article in the Lifestyles mag about how wonderful this system was for disabled folk. After making my comments about not being as wonderful as they may think they suggested contacting the dealer to have the system turned off but I never did as the car was due to be returned but over the 3 years I had about 10 to 15 false alarms at very inconvenient times. The electric tail lift is a £365 extra on the Touran and while it would be an option that would help me I don’t think its one I would pay for even if it is a reasonable price, same goes for the individualize tyre monitoring that comes in at £170 extra but would hope my next VW didn’t suffer that flaw I had.
Hi, thanks for the message, seems you’ve had a bad ordeal with the TPS system!
i just found it off that for the base spec model Touran, for it to have individual tyre sensor, hence why im thinking it could be standard.
Weve got auto tailgate in our current C4 and it is nice but as you said not worth paying extra for. I think thats why we never went for the Touran 3 years ago as the c4 grand Picasso had a very decent spec for not much AP. this time around the c4 grand Picasso has a quite a high AP so hence why going for the Touran.

il find out tomorrow, our current one doesnt go back until Jan as it was extended for 6 months due to covid. il keep you updated.
Hi Antec, Great choice. Like others above, have nothing but praise for the SEL dsg. I paid for the pana roof, but now £1250. Have switched replacement to an Allspace SEL dsg as included all the extras that I needed and worked out cheaper despite higher AP . Not convinced that it will be a better car and shed no tears today when told the six month wait will be now longer. My Touran is silver with mocha microfibre heated seats. Wonderful.
Thanks, i really like the Allspace, looks so nice, the wait till be worth it!
October 12, 2020 at 2:47 pm in reply to: VW Touran – R LINE vs SE Family – Both 1.5tsi 150bhp #126668Just had a quick look at the VW comparison for this model as it’s a model I follow very closely and would say that the SE Family version is a great big no, no unless you really do love sun-roofs. You lose so much over the SEL or R that there’s too many thing to list here. One thing I’ve noticed having revisited the VW configuration is that the Touran SEL has lost it’s run flat tyres and gained one of those terrible tyre kits. Apart from the tyre kit I’ve found the standard headlights on the Golf, so assuming the same for the Touran, to be naff and the upgrade expensive but with the tyre kit being added, if indeed it has, it marks the Touran down a little bit for me but still the best deal I can see for my needs but will be giving the Seat range a closer look come next July but more than likely be keeping with the Touran despite those tiny niggles. Just one other thing ? I noticed a pop-up while using the configuration for the Touran saying something about the specs for the engines may differ from August 20 due to emission changes so another one to keep an eye on, anyone know what those changes maybe with regards to the performance of the Touran?
Hi Chris
Sorry i saw your reply just now
