Hi All,
I rang motability up and spoke to them about extending my lease. I explained the clause in the contract allowing me for 2 extra years and they still said no.
I paid for additional extras on the car which as improved suspension and heated seats and steering wheel as they really benefit me which cost an extra £2k on top of Ap. I only did this because my intention was to extend my lease for 5 years like I did previously but these additional extras don’t fall under adaptions and I am over the 20k limit.
I took out the lease in May 2022 and the new rules came into effect at end of 2023. I was never made aware of these changes nor agreed to any of them.
Motability said I can contact the financial ombudsman to which I have taken the case there as I feel this is wrong and a clear lack of clarity on Motability part.
what do people think? Will they be able to help me?
Hi I have taken my case to the financial ombudsman as I don’t think this is fair. They refused my lease extension by adding these terms in 1.5 years into my lease to which I never was made aware of or agreed to.
I paid additional £2k in extras in improved suspension and heated seats and steering wheel with the intention of keeping the car for 5 years like I did the previous car I had with them.
I feel this is a complete lack of clarity from motability as they said the extras I added are not classed as adaptions and I am over the 20k mileage.
hoping the financial ombudsman will be able to help. What does everyone think? Has anyone else been to the financial ombudsman regarding motability?
