ajnTrying to book my car in for a seat repair by email seems to be very difficult, the original dealer seems to have gone under, so been in contact with the newly appointed premises..
However seems that all they want to do is contact by phone, not my chosen contact preference, also checking in online with motability to try sort it out, I noticed the insurance is for the wrong model of car
Volvo XC 60,
when mines a XC40,
I have informed them, maybe others should check theirs too..

ajnQuick update been as it’s a new business taking over Volvo servicing & motability there aren’t any courtesy cars till the end of April..
Also if I want the car to be picked up from home and to be taken in for the seat malfunction there’s a CHARGE to me to do so..
Can’t see why I’d have to pay for the car to be picked up if there’s a fault..

Lux>LooksVolvo manufacturers warranty will pay for the fault repair. They won’t cover a collection & delivery though. It takes someone’s time to do that, so the dealership have to pass that cost on to you.
I’ve been following your progress with this seat issue with though…must admit I expected more of Volvo dealers!

ajnThanks for the info & time Lux>Looks, guess I’ll just wait till the end of April then..
Hopefully the seat don’t catch fire due to the electrical fault ?..
Ive reported it too who need be anyway, so up to them now..
March 30, 2022 at 3:35 pm #181224MB should be able to put you in a hire car if there are no courtesy car available rather than waiting till the end of April.

ajnHello kezo, well I notified motability about the fault to the seat, also about the confusion of booking in for repair.
I did mention also to the insurance and motability about the insurance policy being different on paper to actual reality..
The car still drives so I’ll just use it, again Thanks for a reply. ?

ajnLooks like I will be cancelling the booking in of the car at the end of April due to the malfunction of the heated seat, reason being it’s at the discretion of the newly opened/appointed garage if I get charged for a courtesy car..
Im not willing to take the charge under any circumstance for any of the above mentioned, not sure if this gets fixed under Volvo warranty or motability.
To pick the car up from my home I get charged, so with that attitude seems it would be the same with a courtesy car..
Oh seems the insurance is registered to a completely different model car too..
March 31, 2022 at 12:02 pm #181319ajn, I would go raise a complaint with Motability

ajn
Motability spoke to my Wife this morning myself33, resulting in if they were to charge it’s the garages discretion?, waiting on a reply from the garage if they intend to push a charge at me, I won’t be paying as it’s not my car, I’ll simply cancel it & leave it, I’ve told both sides there’s a fault, hopefully it don’t result in an electrical fire as it’s the heated seat at fault..
March 31, 2022 at 12:40 pm #181325Hi ajn as mentioned above I would be complaining to mb asap.
March 31, 2022 at 1:31 pm #181333
ajnTbh kezo I hate chatting officey type chat, all that on hold music stuff & oh I’ll check with my colleague nonsense I have no time for..?
Mrs Ajn spoke on the phone to motability this morning, coming back with this discretion stuff, nah we can all have discretion ?
Im just waiting on a simple yes or no to any charge to me from the garage, if even a maybe that’s me done I’m canceling the repair on the grounds that they are aware of the problem..?
It’s not my car I’m not paying, can’t believe the cheek of even mentioning it tbh..?
rant over, sorry for the grumpiness ?
March 31, 2022 at 2:40 pm #181336Ajn talking to mobility frontline customer service, and then raising an official complaint, and go through the complaints process , can give two very different outcomes

ajnThanks all for the replies, I’ll see what the reply we’re waiting on says and go from there..
Hopefully some day I can help one of you out too..?
April 4, 2022 at 11:13 am #181769
ajnQuick update on the seat malfunction..

Also the insurance will be updated to the correct vehicle, Thanks Motabilty, and also anyone who replied with the info..?
April 4, 2022 at 11:30 am #181771Good news @ajn. Come to think about it no you shouldn’t be charged fora courtesy car on mb and something I was always provided by the dealer although they did try to charge me £1o insurance once that needed correcting. During the pandemic and not sure if it applies now or was a dealer specific charge, they jumped on the bandwagon just like hairdressers and were charging £25 sterilisation fee so got a hire car from mb. I can not see it applying now though.
Hope you get it sorted pronto for you.

??April 26, 2022 at 6:06 pm #183461What you going to do @ajn leave it till next week or just keep to the original date.
They have had plenty of time to allocate a loan vehicle to you and dare bet a retail customer has taken priority over it. I would be making them aware your not happy and that you won’t be amused if it happens again.

ajn<p style=”text-align: left;”>Re booked kezo 11/05/22, I’m intrigued to see if this appointment will be a success tbh..</p>
Maybe an emergency occurred and a busy family has use of my issued date courtesy car, however if no emergency, seems very incompetent..May 10, 2022 at 11:22 am #184881
ajnSo hopefully the car is going in tomorrow for the seat malfunction, with courtesy car provided…
However could be cancelled again at very short notice, like last time?..
Seems all a bit of a shambles so far imo ?
