I am getting about 60Mbps on my WiFi, paying for 80!
And about 130Mbps via 4G. I find that amazing!!

Cloudscape isn’t particularly cheap, but if price is an indicator of quality . . .

Scrub that, it’s Virgin that offer the 1000mbs via cable, not landline.

What are you getting using cat5e cable from your router-laptop. I would reckon you would be getting close if not more to what you ISP has told you will get (80)
Your hardware on your devices will come into play, just as much as obstacles over Wifi.
I treated myself to a Wifi 6 (802.11ax) laptop, my wifi is somewhat faster off an older isp provided wifi 802.11ac router than my old laptop was but, it is still bottle necked. When I get round to installing my own wifi 6 router, wifi will be alot faster using my wifi 6 laptop.

I’m with virgin, I could pay for faster but this is good for now. Also Mesh router, transformative.

I can remember EE boosting 4g LTE speeds to around that quoted by the op, some years ago. From memory it was 110-120Mpps
January 3, 2023 at 4:42 pm #204532i get between 500 and 600 mbps on my router(talk talk). phone is nowt special tho even on wifi as i think the phone maxes out about 60…. its a pixel 6
