Well I have to agree with some and say I’m looking forward to seeing what happens with some of the prices for some of the electric cars, I can order mid January and I’m pretty certain it is going to be the Toyota BZ4X although would prefer the Subaru version but alas no Subaru on the scheme. Anyway I’m just really curious to see what happens with the prices because according to the figures published in the motoring press demand for an EV has fallen off a cliff so I’m wondering if the makers with drop the prices by a stupid amount and give us some bargains and give me another slight headache because I will be working out which is best to get. I also wonder about the Enyaq prices since that has been such incredible value for money so far. On a side note because I’m certain my car is going to be electric I signed up to the Octopus Electroverse app I like the idea of it working over multiple providers, I got bored and worked out I’d need so many different apps and cards if wanted to do a public charge, I thought they were supposed to be making charging simple I suppose those who have a Tesla don’t know how lucky they are just pulling up and plugging in and it just works.
From April 2024 Toyota BZ4X now From april 2025 Skoda Enyaq 85 Edition due to BZ4x being written off
December 27, 2023 at 7:16 pm #252463I told the manager firmly that I doubted his explanation about the ‘accident’ and also his offer about the silver ‘6’ off the transporter, but I didn’t fall out with him. He did what he felt he had to do, and I opted out.
Thanks for clarifying @POPS. I’m used to bad news so I’d rather get told straight up, meaning the games being played with your order would be frustrating for me. Yet, like you say, it’s totally understandable; year end targets need to be met, guys are depending on sales to keep their jobs, etc.
The first excuse (‘accident’), fair enough. The second one (‘just off the transporter!’) would see me say: “nope, I’m out”. I understand it’s a cutthroat business and I’ll give some rope but only so much.
Sorry you’ve got to keep looking though.

December 28, 2023 at 12:36 pm #252473And back on topic, I’m really surprised that the only leak we’ve had so far is that from VW.
December 28, 2023 at 12:50 pm #252475I’ve just extended my lease by two years to give me enough time to sort a suitable new vehicle. I can now order a new car from now onwards, without having to worry about time constraints.
I’ve just watched a news item on CBC News about Kia Canada instructing their dealerships to delay deliveries of new cars and leave them standing on vehicle compounds in Canada, while instructing their staff to lie to customers about “transportation difficulties”. The reason …. Kia Canada are concerned that Kia Korea will cut their huge allocated marketing budget for next year if they think Kia Canada are “over achieving with numbers of registered new vehicles”. So customers who have paid their deposits up to eight months ago are having their already delivered vehicles withheld because the dealers have put greed before customer service.
I hope they face severe consequences!
Sadly it seems we can no longer trust “dealer speak”.
Back on topic, it will be interesting to see whether the new quarter’s advanced payments and vehicle availability reflects a new realism among EV manufacturers. If it doesn’t happen this quarter, then surely it must by the second quarter, if the current EV sales problems are being reported correctly.

Just out of interest is there anything you would like to see added this quarter.
December 28, 2023 at 3:20 pm #252485Kia EV6 GT S Line, for the audio upgrade and all round camera.
Ioniq 6 Ultimate AWD.
Ioniq 5 Namsan
Enyaq Laurin & Klement
I don’t expect any of the above to be added Elliot, but I can dream, lol.

Nice list there. We can but dream.
December 28, 2023 at 4:37 pm #252489I have decided that, should the BYD Seal AWD join next week, I will venture into the world of BEV’s. If not, it will be a PHEV or full hybrid 🙂
December 28, 2023 at 4:43 pm #252491I’ve read that the Seal is clearly the first attempt of a Chinese manufacturer to make a really powerful EV. Reviews say that it lacks finesse, but I have to admit that there is a kind of joyfulness about it that “tickles the taste buds”. I do so little mileage that it might be easy to overlook where it comes up short …. if it does.
December 28, 2023 at 5:18 pm #252496Kezo pops the byd seal is fantastic please don’t listen to people calling it on here I’ve saw 4 YouTube reviews and it’s so close to the Tesla 3 even my neighbour says that and he has a Tesla 3 . It looks fab and Dave auto bears loved it
December 28, 2023 at 5:23 pm #252497You may well be right Mike. I haven’t seen one or sat in one. In fact my only info comes from written and YouTube reviews. It looks good and it’s certainly quick.

Certainly not their first attempt in Europe. The BYD Han, 3.9s is available with 510bhp, a second slower than the Seal lol. It was first thought the Han would come to the UK during the last year or so but, sadly not the case as its only being sold in Europes left hand drive markets for now and is aimed more towards the premium market.
Tell me what you think of the video (Seal)
Oh heres a Han walk around if you want see what its like!
December 28, 2023 at 6:49 pm #252508Easy answer. Ssanyong Rexton. I’ll be happy to see a wider range of cars, in all categories.

December 28, 2023 at 11:20 pm #252535I’d like to see the AP of the car we ordered two weeks ago come down, then I can have ‘that’ converstion with the dealership.
December 29, 2023 at 1:59 pm #252580I’m going against the E.V grain here, a BMW 2 series coupe.
I couldn’t get a hoist in the back, but the thought is nice.

December 29, 2023 at 2:04 pm #252583Well my wish of the Mustang Mach-E is back on. Unfortunately, it’s still the base model at a ridiculous AP.
December 29, 2023 at 2:13 pm #252586I’m really surprised some of your wishes are electric cars, a lot are mentioning cars already on the scheme such as Ioniq 5/6 with top level trims available which shouldn’t be an issue meanwhile the German cars are offering base trim EVs like they are extra stock that nobody wants to buy e.g Mach E, i4, Q4 all these cars are stunning at their top trims MB customers deserve more and I hope it changes in 3 days.
December 29, 2023 at 2:32 pm #252587I just want the AP for the Ioniq 6 Ultimate to drop B4 i pick mine up in FEB.

This forum has a disproportionately high percentage of EV enthusiasts compared to the population in general ?

What we need, is Motability not having so much of a love affair with 1.5 150bhp ICE vehicles ?
December 29, 2023 at 6:52 pm #252603That is so true it’s like if you want ICE you get a 0-60 in 15 seconds hatchback ? or just get a BEV and they so kindly offer us the base model, we’re not allowed to be happy getting a car that’s desirable in the real world. ??♂️
