        the quicker we accept that fact the better, particularly for our Children Grandchildren and all the future generations.

        What about the children, grandchildren and future generations in the countries where all the dirty mining goes on. Even the deep sea isnt safe anymore, just so you can drive what you consider a green machine, that isn’t as green as you make out!

          A better Ford Mustang Mach-E than the one we had on the scheme at a reasonable AP.

          Is there a better one Elliot? All the reviews of the Mustang Mach-E I have seen have been pretty poor!

            Polestar 2. I’ve just had a drive in one, very impressive imh. At £48 k it’s in the price range of a lot the EV on the scheme.

              You must have watched different reviews to me.

                Not sure how this got to be a ‘green’ debate.

                The simple truth is that personal transport will never be green.  An EV is a good step forward but the best solution includes a lot of reliance on public transport which is usually difficult for those on the scheme to access.  A BEV is brilliant for improving the environment in your immediate locality but there’s still a lot of problems in the creation of both the car and the energy it uses is less than ideal.  All solutions offered or proposed are still compromises based on the difficulty in persuading the population to live near where they work and shop.

                The Mach E is a decent enough EV but the improved handling comes at the cost of ride comfort, if you don’t mind the bumps it’ll do nicely.  The long range offering has a lot of the tech that its competitors offer like electric boot, seats and heated seats front and rear plus that long range is pretty much the best on offer thanks to the huge battery.

                  No vehicle is green full stop, we are all guilty of polluting the planet.

                  Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.

                    @Badwolfe

                    I don’t think you have expanded on the dubious “green message” comment but I’m sure you will. I’m afraid it is about the climate agenda and the detrimental effect that fossil fuels are having on it. If we don’t ditch fossil fuel use the environment as we know it will be destroyed.

                    @Glos Guy

                    The whole idea of the green agenda is a holistic approach. So if you use assumptions that EVs are being produced and use Electricity provided by coal powered stations then yes they would appear to be more damaging to the environment. However if sustainable green energy is used the figures look very different.

                    Factor in the pollution caused by Fossil fuels and there is no doubt about which is more environmentally friendly. Put simply we can’t afford to carry on as before.

                    We have already had these debates before and usually end still in our entrenched positions. So on the basis that this is supposed to be a discussion on what we would like on the scheme my choice would be a Fisker Ocean, long range preferably.

                      The only person who seems to be intent on expanding on the ‘green message’ is you. The rest of us tend to be in some degree of agreement. You have a great day though 🙂

                          Ooh, the Fisker would easily upset my decision process if it were to join the scheme now.  However, it’s not yet fulfilled the pre order catalogue for the UK with only a few delivered.  Then there’s how they’re selling them and if the Tesla approach doesn’t sit well with Motability then Fisker really won’t, add in the rather interesting contracting out of the servicing and repairs to a 3rd party and it’s all a bit much for Motability’s sensibilities.

                                Ah the Ocean designed in California, built by Magna Steyr in Austria on the same line, that untill recently built the BMW 530e and unlikely to me Motability’s structure. Shame….

                                  I saw this in the reuters article about Hyundai sell Russion factor for £80.

                                  At least the Amber gives reason to why Russian soldiers were stealing washing machines from Ukraine – was to paint them red and put wheels on them!

                                      looks like a more competitive AP from VW (compared to the id4 at least) hopefully this is a sign of things to come with all manufacturers.

                                          Just read a few reviews on the 5 and none were kind to it tbh. All said save your money and go for the 4.

                                          Oh and one reviewer had to look at the badge to tell the difference between them inside and out.

                                                  I loved the Vitesse. An Uncle of mine had new one when I was a teenager and he drove it in anger. I had an 827 Vitesse some years later, but not quite the same.
