For most of my 60+ years I’ve been a wet shave man, I have recently turned to an Braun electric shaver. Took me a while to get used to it, and I’m still struggling a bit, but how do you find it ladies ??????

ajnOnce used an electric shaver as a neck/face shave ended up with a type of rash & felt as if my face/neck was buzzing and burning for hours after, never again for me..
February 13, 2022 at 10:27 pm #177267Electric for me. Only takes a few mins. I only buy ones that cost around £20 and they last long enough. They can make a bit of a mess although Santa brought me one this Christmas and it has a little hoover thing attached which catches all the hair and to be fair it really does catch almost everything. If I’m being honest though, I imagine it cost a lot more than the ones I normally get and I don’t think it’s really worth the money
February 14, 2022 at 9:23 am #177300Mix of both. Philips lekky rotary for regular trimming round the edges of beard and keeping head fuzz-free. About once a week, do a “wet” shave to do it properly. I use shave-oil to get a neat, pain-free finish. No razor-burn. ?
February 14, 2022 at 10:39 am #177323I absolutly hate shaving. When I do its a wet shave. As I am on warferin I bleed like a stuck pig with the slightest nick Which takes some stopping.

Next: we'll see what's available in 2028.February 14, 2022 at 12:50 pm #177340I am on my second Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3080s Electric Shaver, Wet and Dry Electric Razor ( the first one went walkabout )
I almost always use it with water and shaving gel/ foam and it shaves just as closely as a safety razor , and lasts for just about as long ie the whole day.
However, if we are going out in the evening, then I top up with a quick dry shave usually.
I thoroughly recommend these razors , but they are pricey to buy, as are the foils, but well worth the money
February 14, 2022 at 11:36 pm #177432Always hated a wet shave and bald face so had stubble of various lengths from my 20’s , 30’s and a beard from mid 30’s into my 40’s ( hides the chins & helps keep you incognito )
I’ve cut my own hair for years in various styles, it’s not that hard lol , so I’ve had various electric trimmers over the years that help maintain it, all more or less do the same thing
As much as I like hair on my face and head I’ve never been a fan of it below the waist line ??
wont go into too much detail but never trust those new electric shavers designed for Men that promise not to nick or catch! Absolute lying scoundrels ????
Top tip , use a good quality “Burds” Venus Razor ? ??
When life hands you melons...,
Make melonade!February 18, 2022 at 9:37 am #177770i use a Muhle Grande Closed Comb and Feather Japanese blades.. best shave available. i do have a braun series 7 electric but its not same league as a good wet razor. Sharper the blade the less chance of cutting yourself as you dont have to press hard; just be confident in your passes.. oh and use a quality soap
after saying that, i bet i cut myself today lol

My son is a very good self taught barber (as good as the local Turkish barber imo) so I can go from looking like a ‘Viking orFather Christmas’ to neatly trimmed, suited and booted in less than an hour without leaving the house.
This is why we have children …. right?

ive been cutting my own hair with electric trimmers/cutters for 30 odd years. recently retired my old whal ones for a battery set from philips. i have to say the new ones are ace, and worth the money.
