So my car had an alarm fault, it was going off randomly and the dealer needed to fix a couple of issues as well.

Because it was away for a week at least, eurocar sent a replacement, a B5 Volvo awd.

I fancied a trip to the seaside, so after a 160 mile round trip,  I went to put petrol in it filling back to brim.

The shock was the $43 in petrol, one trip.

In the whole of March, I used $30 of electricity for thee whole month an covered 1153 miles.

The xc60 was only getting between 21-25 mpg. It was a huge step backwards in technology as well. You had to plug in to get android auto. Everything is 5 years behind the rest of the competition.

It was a shock putting petrol in a car again. It was noisy, clunky compared to the ioniq. But surprisingly easier to maneuver when parking. It’s cameras are excellent.

But yes, only a year with an EV and it’s rough going back to fuelling, standing in diesel soaked  pumps, and your hands stink as well manhandling the nozzle.

Car is back and the garage were extremely apologetic and arranged for it to be delivered back to me ( free of charge) which was a really helpful and kind thing to do all – all valeted and sparkly clean and hopefully no more 12v battery issue. It does seem to be a car industry problem these batteries including in ICE cars. But at least I know how to break into my car now should anything odd like that happen again !
