I don’t get too excited about new Motability AP prices ATM due to not renewing for a couple of years yet but yes I too noticed the welcome return of the Touran be it with a 200% AP price increase.
Its a funny thing the Touran as I was told by many dealers and those in the know that the Touran was discontinued about two to three years ago but thought it odd that it has still been in the VW configurator.
I think what the dealers should of said back two years ago when the Touran was my number one go to car is that its no longer available for MB customers and not told lies, that I repeat came from several sources at the time, that the Touran was discontinued, unless of course VW changed their minds.
I’m not sure about availability but seeing what’s going on in the market ATM that dealers are pushing at all cost for buyers to buy an EV because they can’t sell petrol cars unless they sell more EV’s so puts none MB customers at a disadvantage and back of the queue for petrol cars as there are plenty of none disabled folk who choose to drive what they want and not what the totalization governments of the western world what you to drive.

The Touran was my first MB lease and excellent for my requirements. 1.4 dsg SEL – AP@ £2800, plus winter pack was very well equipped, including Pano roof. After three happy and fault free years, went for a Tiguan Allspace SEL as even better spec and similar AP as to equip the Touran to same spec was over £5k . The Allspace is being discontinued, but not in N America – it is built in Mexico, Touran in Wolfsburg. The Touran has a lower loading height if, like me, you have rollator etc and has a larger glass area. See AP for the top level is now £3999 plus £1500 for the pano roof! As Chris rightly says, punitive prices for ICE cars due to arbitrary tariffs impose by our deluded, eco zealot globalists. Not that it matters to MB leasors, but EV second hand values are plummeting, insurance costs soaring as cars written off with any damage to the battery housing
PS anyone see the video of the exploding ambulance? All the hallmarks of a lithium battery fire. No one is saying. Paramedics are only achieving 50% productivity due frequent lengthy charging.
