Hi everyone hope your well just looking for some information on the VW ordering process and time frames etc

It’s the first time we have used motability and also ordering a brand new car so a little unsure on how everything works etc

We ordered a VW Tiguan R-LINE tech on saturday afternoon and managed to get the dealership to match another dealer 200 miles away on the contribution payment of £400 which was a great help 🙂

The salesman stated that as it was a weekend motability was shut so the order would not be complete until today Monday.

I have checked the motability tracker this afternoon and it’s now showing accepted etc and the order will now be completed by the dealer

The salesman promised a call on monday to let us know everything had gone through etc but no call 🙁 we called at 6pm to be told yes all completed etc and a VW order tracking number issued

He still couldn’t give me a rough collection or build date etc just stated sometime in march  and the 31st to be on the safe side

Does anyone know when i will be able to obtain a build date or rough delivery date etc ? the VW app states it takes 72 hours for the order to show etc

As you can probably guess we are quite excited So any help to put my mind at rest would be very grateful thank you

Going from my history with the tracker I think this car will definitely be with you dealer the first or 2nd week of March everything will start flying through now.

This thread has bounced back and forth between Tiguans and Tiguan Allspaces – which are you getting English? If it’s the standard car, a couple weeks, if its the allspace it’ll be a good bit longer I think

Ur welcome, I haven’t been in the best health to enjoy the car fully but the couple of times of driving it I have absolutely loved it. It’s a really nice car with lots of tech to get ya head around. But it drives really well ?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi everyone hope your all well just a quick update to say I’m now not holding out much hope for a early March delivery ? haven’t received a single update since the 15th feb saying it had left the factory, I called the salesman on Friday for a update he weren’t interested wouldn’t even check for me, so called VW who to be fair was very helpful but said it’s still on its way to the port so looks like I got my hopes up for nothing ? what’s more annoying is because of that left the factory email I sold my car on Wednesday thinking it would be a pretty quick process from there so now Have no car also ?? what’s people’s experience dose it normally take this long to get to the port etc or could it all be delayed due to the bad weather etc</p>

Hi Wenglish, form here and other forums it looks like 4/5 weeks from leaving factory.

The bad weather did shut some of the uk the ports down for a couple of days, but that shouldn’t have major affect on timescales.

At least yours is built, mine is still at the confirmed stage

Thanks Chris That’s crazy how yours has not been pushed on further yet considering you ordered before me and I’m sure the Newport dealership is the same as the one I used in Bridgend Sinclairs ?

Local VW dealer told me it would be 3 months to get a Tiguan (not Allspace), didn’t even ask me which version!!.

Yes they are the same group,

only thing i can think off is i did have an option added.  As long as it arrives before June (should be here mid April)  all is good.  I’m driving down to south of spain middle of June, my current car won’t make it to channel tunnel let alone Spain.

Has yours moved on any further Chris ? Well my order 17 days after being built and leaving the factory is still as of today apparently still in transit and in Germany still on its way to the port, not quite sure how that can take 17 days.

Also really unhappy with the lack of information from my dealer not a single update or even a reply to emails it’s been really quite bad. So the 1st or 2nd week delivery is now definitely not happening ?

@wenglish, Yes mine is now built awaiting transit (Status 5a), 4 weeks to get to uk further week to dealer, so still on course for mid april.

@Chris I’m very happy for you mate Looks like everything has gone to plane for you 🙂  After hearing that though I’m now going to cancel my order today mine is still stuck at 5a apparently on the way to the port in Germany for what 18 days now so seems like something has gone wrong and with the lack of communication from the dealer I’ll go somewhere else and try and get one sooner I seriously can’t be without a car keep us updated with your progress mate

Wenglish, my dealer told me it would be 14 weeks for my order (R-Line Tech 150 manual) placed last week so you may be better phoning VW and asking what on Earth is going on!.

@Chris what Tiguan did you order ? Just seen a thread online stating that over 4k vw vehicles have been stopped due to a issue with the fuel pipe and now thinking this is maybe why mine has not moved

@chris exactly the same model as you have you seen today’s bulletin really hope it doesn’t effect us as a lady in Cheltenham was supposed to collect her brand new order tomorrow and was called up today to say she now can’t collect due to this bulletin ?

Other than the inconvenience of the delay, I see this is a good thing – if there’s even a slight chance of there being an issue with fuel safety/security, I for one would definitely like it to be 100% ruled out on a car I’d be driving for the next 3 years.

@chris just contacted VW and explained what I’d found yesterday and after them going to a different department etc it turns out mine is effected hence why it’s not moved for nearly 3 weeks. Looks like yours might have missed the limited production period where they had issues. Not sure what I’m going to do now though they said it could take a few months to resolve

A few months? 😮  I wonder if it’ll affect the production timescale for new builds?.  My Yeti’s PCP lease expires in June about 3 weeks after the Tiggy is due!.

Thanks @phaedra appreciate it but it states a limited production period so I can only presume it’s now sorted and the 4713 vehicles are the only ones effected, just really annoyed and upset with the lack of communication from both VW and the dealership I knew something was wrong but they wouldn’t have any of it until I mentioned this issue to them today. I have called the dealer and apparently they were about to call us to say about the issue but we beat them to it lol yea right

the dealership has now advised they can’t help with a temporary hire car and to ask motability which we have just done but apparently because we haven’t taken delivery of the vehicle there is nothing they can do to help us so really stuck now
