Hi everyone hope your well just looking for some information on the VW ordering process and time frames etc

It’s the first time we have used motability and also ordering a brand new car so a little unsure on how everything works etc

We ordered a VW Tiguan R-LINE tech on saturday afternoon and managed to get the dealership to match another dealer 200 miles away on the contribution payment of £400 which was a great help 🙂

The salesman stated that as it was a weekend motability was shut so the order would not be complete until today Monday.

I have checked the motability tracker this afternoon and it’s now showing accepted etc and the order will now be completed by the dealer

The salesman promised a call on monday to let us know everything had gone through etc but no call 🙁 we called at 6pm to be told yes all completed etc and a VW order tracking number issued

He still couldn’t give me a rough collection or build date etc just stated sometime in march  and the 31st to be on the safe side

Does anyone know when i will be able to obtain a build date or rough delivery date etc ? the VW app states it takes 72 hours for the order to show etc

As you can probably guess we are quite excited So any help to put my mind at rest would be very grateful thank you

ive ordered the same my order went through Friday and got the same discount my vw order tracker started to work this evening.  On the paper order I got off the dealership my estimated delivery is 9th April

 

this is also my first motability car

Hey Wenglish1984 welcome to the forum I also new to motability and collect my first on Saturday. So I’m excited too, everyone on here are lovely and super helpful. ?

below is my timeline with vw for a Rline Tiguan also

7/9/2019 Order placed

29/11/2019 stage 3 Build week 2 13th January 2020

9/01/2020 stage 5a in transit left the factory

11/01/2020 stage 5b in transit shipping

16/01/2020 stage 5c in transit near the uk

18/01/2020 stage 6 arrived in the uk

22/01/2020 stage 6 arrived in the uk

23/01/2020 stage 7 car arrived

8/02/2020 collecting car.

Hope this helps you in some way yours sounds like it will be slightly quicker than mine I was told December but it’s been longer as you can see for yourself. So can’t wait for Saturday ??????

Hoping you guys get quicker builds than we did, I personally have been about a week behind Anneka all the way and now seem to be stuck in limbo – her car arrived at the dealer the day after it landed. Mine landed Thursday 30th Jan and seems to have disappeared lol, still not recorded as being at the dealer.

Looks like they’re telling you guys around 8 weeks which is a lot quicker than mine was (unless they’re saying that’s the expected build time, which would still be a bit quicker but not quite so extreme)

It seems that maybe they will get the cars quicker than us Colin as when I went to my dealer their was loads of Rline Tiguans there and the salesman said they ordered quite a few extra orders due to Brexit and not knowing what might happen. Colin sorry urs seems to have disappeared have u spoken to customer care to see if they can inform you of any changes as it seemed ours were coming together right big sigh how annoying ?I’m hoping it’s at ur dealer and they just haven’t updated it been received yet.

Morning everyone thanks for the lovely welcome 🙂 My order is now active on the VW tracking app and was quite shocked to see it at stage 3 stating build week confirmed after only 48 hours.

How do i obtain the build week as it states no actual date other than build date confirmed ?

Also the dealership i used was sinclairs VW in bridgend who matched another dealerships £400 contribution offer

Just spoken to VW on chat online they have stated the build date is confirmed for the 10th Feb 🙂

We put the order in on Saturday afternoon but motability was closed so it actually only went through yesterday morning so a very quick turnaround

On line rumours and spy shots indicate a facelift is due in 2020. Tourag style grill etc. Usually some production disruption for minor retooling. All new models such as Mercedes GLA imminent.

Wenglish I put mi e in 2 weeks ago and still showing number 2 on the app, “with the factory”, suppose it depends on your dealer, mine can’t even answer a email

There’s always a facelift or new model in the pipeline or T’internet , the Tiguan hasn’t changed much since it was introuded 4 years ago, some extra free kit was added when it went from R line to R Line tech , a bigger facelift has been rumoured for some time and that day will inevitably arrive one day

but one thing anyone who is considering ordering one but thinking I might hold off incase a facelift does appear is…

there is no guarantee it will still be on the scheme! the quarterly lottery and work for you but also against you and once it’s gone there’s no magic time machine when you phone Motability begging to order a car that 24 hours was on the scheme

So my advice to anyone in this predicament would be to place that order , sit back and relax , you can always cancel the order down the line if need be ??

Knowing how long it takes to get a Tiguan is important to me. It’s on our list but I would ideally like it in January next year to get our full £900 good condition bonus, tight……me……never lol.

I saw this rumour and still ordered the RLine Tech as I lost out on the Audi Q3 thinking the new one would be put on then they took the old one off for the new one over a year later to not even be added. Won’t do that again so there’s always new cars and facelifts coming out but again doesn’t mean it will be on the scheme. New isn’t always better either lol ?

An order in August should get there easily by January, assuming a standard Tiguan (3-4 months), not an Allspace (closer to 9/10 months).  Personally I would make it crystal clear when you order that you won’t take delivery until the end of your 5th year unless the dealer is willing to compensate you for the £150 it’ll cost you over the 4 year GCB.  You may find they’re willing to cover it, or at least be prepared to store the car until the right date.

Hi guys just had a txt from VW to say my order has now been built and left the factory Level 5a what ever that means

From people’s order experience What’s my chances of a first or second week collection in March ?
