Volvo Cars is extending its UK EX30 range with the introduction of a new entry-level Core specification, making the fully electric small SUV more affordable.

Joining the established Plus and Ultra grades in the line-up, the new EX30 Core is available with two powertrains: Single Motor, with a driving range of up to 209 miles, and Single Motor Extended Range, capable of up to 295 miles (official WLTP data).

The standard equipment specification features a rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, automatic LED headlights with active high beam and 18-inch alloy wheels. The 12.3-inch touchscreen system comes with Google built in, while a dashboard-mounted soundbar offers great sound quality. On Single Motor Extended Range versions, the climate control system also uses an energy-saving heat pump, helping optimise the car’s power usage and driving range.

On-the-road prices are £32,850 for the Single Motor version and £37,050 for the Single Motor Extended Range. All EX30s come with three years/60,000 miles’ servicing plus wear and tear maintenance for items such as wiper blades and brake discs and pads.

The new EX30 Core is available to order now, with first customer deliveries expected in early 2025.

      XC90 upgrades
The seven-seat XC90 large SUV range is benefiting from specification upgrades. New Plus Edition and Ultra Edition trim levels replace the current Plus and Ultra grades respectively.

The Plus Edition introduces perforated Nappa leather upholstery with ventilation for the front seats, tinted windows and 21-inch alloy wheels (replacing the previous 20-inch wheels). The Ultra Edition adopts 22-inch wheels (previously 21-inch), while the prices for both grades include all exterior paint choices.

Both new specifications are available with the B5 petrol and T8 petrol-electric plug-in hybrid powertrains, with on-the-road prices from £69,425.

Orders are open now, with first deliveries this autumn.

just an update, ordered my ex30 in august, picked it up late september,

Cost was 1999, minus 750 new car payment and 350 good condition bonus made it a very acceptable payment for a very advanced car. (about 800 quid all in, given the disgustingly high prices, this was fine to me)

The car itself, is an EV and completely electric an computerised, it’s not for the faint hearted if you are not computer savvy, the entire car is practically controlled by a large tablet interface, temp, music, navigation. Do i enjoy it? Yep, it’s a lovely and VERY fast drive, i am not a fan of fast driving, but it can move very quickly. The only thing i am not happy about is the extreme lack of backroom seating, its usually just me and my son driving, so its not an issue but a few extra bodies would probably struggle, the boot is not huge either. i got the car with 97% battery, that last about 1 week and i have done about 147 miles which is not what i was expecting, that seems very low.

I’m overall – very happy with the car, i knew we had to eventually move to an EV and the ohme install was done in about 15mins, the guy showed me how to use the app an what to expect, i have not done a full charge yet, as im gonna wait for that half price thing on Sunday from British Gas.

You do know British Gas have an EV tariff it used to be 8p/kwhr or something like that,   5 Hours of cheap charging at night. Its free to signup….

You really should be using that option dude

                    hi @Crippleddad

not sure what mileage you do or current tariff.  best look at your total usage for the year.

I have been on intelligent octopus go. (was on this from start of octopus) gives 11.30-5.30 at. 7p for the whole house as well as with car. it can also be boosted if you need to.

a few here can give you a code which would split £100 with you. very good company. no early exit fees change when you. want.

easy to chat to on Twitter etc.

Also good site https://www.speakev.com/ been a member there too.

let me know or someone here

Just signed up for a new two year deal with BG, so i cant leave at the moment. My bill (with BG) is/was lower than the Octopus projected was for the entire year, i suspect once i move to the Drivers tariff it will be approx the same.

with octpus for some strange reason can only quote the SV as they said same to my daughter who then went straight onto the Agile rate,

would recommend the ev forum as loads of people with great info.
