We are going to the Continent again, but this time all the way to Czech Republic (at least it’s western part).

 

Looks like on this occasion I will have to subscribe to Tesla’s as it looks like they are the cheapest and search for something local, when in Czechia – the closest Tesla will be some 100 miles from us.

Disadvantage of Tesla’s that it doesn’t talk well to non Tesla vehicles, hence the charging speed very quickly drops to 60-70.

IONITY is a good alternative, but they are more expensive in Europe than Tesla’s.

 

Any other options someone can recommend, please?

I have neither and called out in my original message that looks like it is either of them, unless one can recommend better alternative.

another website with another credentials and profile to maintain… Hopefully someone on this forum can share their experience. We drove to Czech Republic in the past,  but then it was a proper ICE 7 seater.

I doubt very much that anyone on this forum will have taken an EV to the Czech Republic. But fingers crossed.

I would highly recommend you take out a 1 month subscription (can be cancelled or renewed during the month if you are away for longer) for BOTH Tesla and Ionity. You will get the cost of the subscription back on your first 20-80 % charge!! In the UK Tesla are around £0.54 per kWh without a subscription and £0.37 with a subscription.

In Czechia, PRE and ČEZ operate some fairly decent fast chargers outside Tesla’s network, though coverage isn’t always consistent in remote areas. Good idea to check local apps once across the border. Heathrow Transfer options can also make the outbound trip to the airport smoother if starting the journey from around London.
