@kezo and @kyle Since you have driven the CX-60, how is the suspension? I have been frequenting the Mazda forums and the horror stories are crazy, and I get that people really tend to discuss issues more so than just praising a vehicle but the amount of issues being reported on earlier production cars and a few more recent, I am a little cautious about ordering. I was told by Brayley I could have a Takumi from stock in 4 weeks, but I would rather have a factory order so I know if anything else has been upgraded/fixed/altered that I would hopefully get a revised version, plus I want to see what happens with prices in October. Humanity is only humanity when all are treated the same regardless of their skin tone, religious beliefs and geography!
I believe alot have been sorted before it gets to the dealer. I’m sure I read most of this work is done in the UK somewhere, it may even having been a holding centre, which may even be at the port. On the CX-70/60 forum there are alot of the complaints from early cars which have either been put right or are done as a customer complaint – door soundproofing, suspension shocks and somer miner ones changed… without any hassle. There are then comments that Mazda wants you to find faults so they can rectify them! There’s a member if I remember rightcalled Ash8 who regulary puts up any recall numbers, whether that be a recall or customer complaint, so you can visit the dealer and say you have x problem. The one I had an extended drive in seemed to have everything sorted, plus I didn’t notice any jerkiness in gearchanges the earlies cars did so guess an OTA update has been done. Oh and its quick for a heavy lump, in sport MODE I got 5.3 sec 0-62!
Oh yeah, Ash8 posts a lot of TSB’s and other helpful information, seems like he has some insider knowledge or something, plus he gets highly defensive when others bad mouth Mazda.
I have read on that forum that the vast majority of issues are fixed in newer production models, but some people just don’t seem to be satisfied with the newer models, for whatever reason. I mean I just read a thread the other day about people finding rattling sounds from the boot, caused by 4 or 5 different things.

I never heard any rattles in the boot but, thats not to say others don’t! Like any mass produced car our going to get niggles that perhaps others of the same car don’t. As for me I don’t like spending a high amount of money for AP on the scheme plus sacrified benifits, so if I do go ahead and order oneikely, it will be more than likely the exclusive model with the two packs as per a previous comment.
I thing the rattle you mention come from the tailgate as if something has worked loose, not fitted properly or a foreign object of some form.

Kyle@Masquerade No issues after a few weeks and I’m not babying the car either. Car comes into Bristol Docks from Japan and they fix any recalls etc. No rattles, sound proofing is great and gear change is super smooth. Suspension for me is next level of comfort with a sporty feel with the slightly heavier steering, but really quick response. I’ve come from a rock solid, low profile tyre VW Tiguan R line, where you feel every stone on the road and felt like you had done damage to the alloy or suspension when hitting a pothole. So the CX-60 feels floaty compared, you would not think your driving a 2 ton plus car with the suspension set up and the speeds this thing moves at. So smooth and powerful. I had an idiot in a Ford Fiesta ST going to overtake me on a country road 60mph straight, I anticipated this so was waiting in Sport Mode and when he pulled out I floored it and oh my god, this thing is like a rocket ship, and the poor Fiesta ST was left for dust. I’ve managed a 5.2 sec 0-62 in Off Road mode as its 50/50 AWD so pulls stronger, seen it on a YouTube video. But don’t drive on normal roads in Off Road Mode, just in a quiet back road straight. Car makes me smile everyday and the reaction from everyone as there is hardly any on the roads (I haven’t seen 1 yet) is also priceless.

KyleNo rattles in the boot for me, I did notice though when collecting the towing eyes that are installed front and rear for transportation, we’re put under the boot carpet by the Bose Subwoofer loose, and the 2 charging cables and bag were also loose in the boot. The luggage / dog net for was also loose in the boot. So could be a number of things. I rearranged all the items and put them under the carpet into there little compartments so no rattles or sounds coming from anywhere. In EV mode all you hear is the Electric Motor, that sounds like a Super Charger. Also the 12 Speaker Bose will eliminate any rattles or squeaks ?

You can always hope that the 3.0l inline 6 petrol or the 3.3l inline 6 diesel joins the scheme eventually 🙂

I am coming to the end of a 5 year lease on a 2019 Tiguan SEL with a lowered suspension and 20 inch wheels, same profile as the R Line and the ride over potholes is harsh and the sound you hear no matter the size of the pothole is always a loud thud so I know that feeling well.
Pending any major blunders or some mind blowing addition to the scheme in October, I will be ordering a Takumi in Machine Grey with possibly all the packs. I was quoted 12-16 weeks for factory order, so I am happy with that.
I am not a fan of “Black Editions” so dislike the Homura styling, but yours looks nice in Soul Red and it’s that contrast of colours that works well. I saw an ugly Homura on the motorway last weekend, dark blue with all the Homura dark trim and wheels, reinforced my desire for the Takumi light/chrome trim and wheels on a Grey car.

August 27, 2023 at 2:41 pm #231334@Kyle I’m aware Mazda changed the tyre brand on the cx60 – can you confirm whether yours has Toyo Proxes or Bridfestones?
August 27, 2023 at 3:26 pm #231336God I hope it doesn’t have Bridgestones, I have 20″ on my Ateca and they are by far the worst tyre I’ve ever had, bad in the wet and completely useless in any amount of snow!.
I was just looking at the APs on the CX60 and trying to justify the expense!, you can tell it’s wet outside and I have nothing better to do! 🙂
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

you said it…no one else did. its out there and plod will find it.
anyway am off for my shift in Algeria.

Kyle glad you like the performance these modern PHEV’s are something else, we have just changed from a Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 PHEV 3 years ago it was new technology to a Suzuki Across with it 306 bhp the first time I put my foot down as usual to get into my lane from 30 to 50 mph it pushed the wife back in her seat, I have learnt to be more gentle with the throttle.

Ju juLoveley looking car Kyle, I chose Homura spec in Sol red crystal, so glad I did. I’m really surprised this car is not more popular in the scheme, I know it’s a hefty advanced payment but for the exclusive line it is good value compared to other PHEV’S.
August 29, 2023 at 8:50 pm #231516A quick question for everyone who has a CX-60.
Since Motability do not provide chargers for hybrid vehicles, what means have you employed to charge your vehicles and is there a scheme/subscription offered to owners of hybrid vehicles that would cut the costs of charging in public?

I’m not aware of a scheme, but I expect you could pay a subscription to the various schemes however do take into account the cx60 only has a 7,4kw AC onboard charger!
If order one I’ll fit my own 7kw charger.

Ju juHi kyle, what charging cables were supplied with your new Mazda cx60?
August 31, 2023 at 7:37 am #231762The Across came with the standard 3 pin 10 amp charger, I had to buy my own 7kWh charging lead, manufactures are stating PHEV owners no longer use public chargers due to the cost, apparently that is the reason they give not to supply a lead ?

KyleMorning everyone, I’m lucky as I have access to a free fast charger through my wife’s work, which is only 3 miles away from where we live. So we are charging twice a week just to keep it topped up and it takes about 2 hours to charge. We have done it from home once with the included 3 pin cable, and it took roughly 5 hours that cost us £3.00, as we set a timer for it to start charging from midnight to 6am.
You get 2 cables supplied with the vehicle and a nice carry bag for the cable as well, there is a 3 Pin UK to Type 2 Cable and a Type 2 to Type 2 Cable. Both cables are about 20 foot in length.
