When I saw the title of this thread I knew exactly what had to be top of the poll. Called it up only to find that Autocar had beaten me to it. The original, two-door Range Rover with the Leyland 3.5L V8 is one of the best vehicles I’ve ever driven. Not all tarted up like the modern variants, just a simple, useful, great-handling mega-Mini with an engine overflowing with low-rev power. You could go anywhere using just second and top gears. Not fast by anyone’s definition but just so satisfying to drive.

Never driven one of them, Wigwam. But I did have an afternoon punting about in a Chrysler Ambassador Hawk V8. Really entertaining drive. Handled like an aircraft carrier, though. Assume the Mustang went round corners as well as it went over bumps!

used to drive my dads v8 rovers in 70’s. plenty dig in them but handled like a barge
