Mike, Spotify is free, but you have ads.
What I do is use a music app and load up my Android phone with songs.
Connect my phone by Bluetooth to the car, and they play when I switch the car on.
The Music App on my phone cost something like £2.50 or something.

Spotify has a free ad-supported version anyone can use. They also have premium services that are chargeable and you can ften get their premium service with 3 month free.
It will use uo your gb allowance but probably not by much but, its worth keeping an eye on your data usage every couple days or so initially to get an idea how much is being used.
July 20, 2024 at 12:41 pm #285341The Muzio Player App is a one off price.
Better if you try various phone apps for free until you find one that works for you. If you like it, then you can buy it if you wish.
Some can be very klunky to use. Muzio works for me.
Alternatively, just buy a usb key load it up with tunes an. Plug it into the usb port on your car. Point the car to the media player and it will play your tunes
July 20, 2024 at 12:46 pm #285342I use a free App called Musicolet on my mobile, I have about 40-50Gb of music on it in MP3 or Flac formats. It will also run through Android Auto.
The Skoda onboard media system is pretty useless, USB can’t remember last track played and always starts from the same track, media keeps changing it’s default startup setting between Media, Radio, Bluetooth etc.
The Android Auto is also pretty poor, whether it’s connected by bluetooth or cable it will sometimes take minutes to establish a connection to the phone, sometimes it will play the music but with a blank screen and supposedly unable to connect!. Previous Ateca (and every other car before it including 2 Skoda Yeti’s) had much better systems, never had any problems with them, so much for progress!
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
July 20, 2024 at 1:57 pm #285343Just one GB is 33 hours 20 mins of streaming from Spotify so I’m well within my 10 GB a month lol 👍

Sounds about right!
Use what your happy with 🙂
@Phaedra I can’t get over how poor the media system is on the Enyak. Has no one found any work arounds yet?July 20, 2024 at 2:53 pm #285345It’s not poor as such, it’s pretty average! I can’t tell how much difference the Canton system makes as I’ve not heard the standard system. If it’s anything like my previous Ateca then the Canton is a pretty poor “upgrade” 🙁
The operating system software is pretty poor, from what I can tell the USB C sockets are not fully wired to standard spec., at least one of them isn’t and doesn’t charge devices if the plug is inserted a certain way. USB C is suppossed to be non-specific and the connectors are wired to work whichever way they’re inserted.
Having nothing to do today I was reading some posts on the BriSkoda forum about similar subwoofer problems on the Superb etc. which turned out to be the sub connector being reverse wired. I stripped out the boot and cut off the alignment keys on the sub connector and re-fitted it turned 180 degrees, this reverses the speaker polarity.
Unfortunately it didn’t make much of a difference, slightly better I think. Basically it’s a poor quality cheap Chinese pretend subwoofer facing directly into a metal plate and encased in a massive solid polysyrene box, a really bad bit of design. I speak from experience as I used to be an audio engineer for NEAL-Ferrograph back in the day.
Only option would be to get an underseat sub fitted, but it would have to be removeable so I can take it out when the car goes back in 30 months time. I already know I have no intention of keeping it over the three years.

Why not get a not so expensive sub, build a box and put it in the boot behind the rear seat ot to one sideor remove the existing one and put in a box in the boot?
From memory when we last spoke I think the Canton is a 8ohm DVC speaker?
You can buy the plugs cheap enough so your not splicing manufacturers harness and even use 2 4ohm in series.
Have you removed the USB C sockets to have a look.
However 30 months will soon fly by mate 🙂
July 20, 2024 at 3:59 pm #285347I’m at the point where I’ve had enough and can’t be bothered with the car any more. Just use it when I need to and until I can find something better.
Had problems charging again this week as Skoda servers were down yet again so no info from car to Skoda App or Ohme App. Ohme tried to charge from 0 to 48% when there was already more than that in the battery!. Took a couple of hours or 3 until it finally worked, more stress than I need to be honest.
