Hello ,I’ve been makeing enquiries about awful problems new cars,Mercedes CLA shooting break 2022. PREM PLUS MODELS
From Nov 2021 to catch up with delivery delays
SPEC CHANGE
NO AUGMENTIVE SATNAV
NO ELECTRIC SEATS
NO HANDS FREE PHONE CHARGE
NO SELF PARK
NO UPRATED SOUND SYSTEM
NO LED MULTIBEAM ANTI ONCOMEING DAZZLE
NO KICK TO RELEASE BACK DOOR
I’m just passing on what I am told by dealerships, as people are waiting with little or no updates from anyone . Mercedes dealerships say They think big mistake removeing augmentive reality ,dealerships say they are getting cars delivered all time now, with items missing as Mercedes trying to catch up with deliverys , I’m also told THESE ITEMS WILL RETURN AT ANYTIME ,BUT,THEY DONT KNOW WHEN,one said could be next week ??.
I suppose cost adjustments will be made ??.
No good.worrying ,bloody pandemic ,and short sighted manufacturers cancelling chip orders in 2020.

If i had ordered a CLA, and then told all the above was not included(even if they refunded X amount of AP) i would cancel.
Yes many customers in UK Canada etc have cancelled, I read & have said if Mercedes where honest up front with them as they saw situation arriveing ,let’s not forget they cancelled chip orders in early 2020,,they would of chosen used or nearly new car on second hand market, not new factory order cars, with all the silence uninterested attitude given by Mercedes , people will not forget how they have been treated, even if they all blame pandemic.

About an hour and a half to 2 hours, as there are 2 cars in front.
Fine, Ill come back in 2 hours.
Customer returns just over 2 hours later, his car is still where it was and asks is it ready.
No, replies the garage but you are next.
Customer gets agitated and the Manager tells him they were very busy and it will be another hour.
Customer replies, why did you not tell me it would be 3 hours in the 1st place.
We thought you would be annoyed with the long wait, and we were right because you are annoyed.
I am annoyed because you misled me, lied to me. If you had told me 3 hours in the 1st place, that would have been fine.
Sounds familiar, and customers will vote with their feet and money.
Yes irritateing
A reliable source has told me many new car specs have changed ,Audi have removed steering assist hands free chargeing even sunroofs,are effected , BMW have limited touch controls ,and many other items ,many car specs have changed to help make chips go further ,I’m told the chip shortage is being addressed but will take time,car manufacturers are not relying completely on the old source of semi conductors.
I’m told E brochure dated Jan 2022 will show what spec you will get on a vehicle,

Many country’s makeing backup plans USA etc to have alternative source of semi conductors in future ,this must not happen again,rather than relying on Tywan.

Absolute daylight robbery.No offence Micky as I realise that you had been waiting for such a long time to get a car, but that’s just shocking.
I also read your other in which you’d stated that the dealer offered nothing as compensation/apology.
I hope you enjoy the car as the model you’ve chosen is a lovely looking car.
But, I would have honestly walked away from that deal. Just my opinion.
Yes we’ll difficult ,do I reject & hope I can get another car ??, i did.ask him about that ,he had another red CLA estate, black one grey one all same ,bits missing ,Dealership also said an added problem for new cars now is Ukraine Russia war ,CLA is built in Hungary which has flood of refugees, plus chip semiconductor pandemic problems ,I’m fed up with it all, I’m glad I’ve got a car but I don’t seem to be excited about new car ,which it should be, I guess I’m going to try enjoy use new car & try forget about
( trying to get a car
anymore ).

That’s crazy, might be worth calling Mb and explaining it all to them, as ultimately the car ain’t what they or you signed upto and I would feel robbed. Them on the otherhand have also bought a car that is not what they paid for and could be worth less than expected in 3 years as it does not have those options.
I get you want the car and all that, but we talking some major expensive changes that have disappeared.
Correct me if im wrong Micky, but wasn’t the AP for that prem plus £3999 when it was on scheme?If so what extras did you order Micky for the AP you paid to be £5,095(think you mentioned that was the amount)..
The car you have now seems more in line with the £3000 lower spec version that was on the scheme,
Yet they still took £5k off you?All this talk must be putting a dampener on you finally getting your new car micky,
but im sure many on here would agree, something not right about the amount you have paid and i feel should be looked into more .
I think I’ll post this again the chip shortage is caused by the wafer shortage which all chips are made from. Back when the pandemic started car sales dropped and because car manufactures work on a just in time parts routine they cancelled orders big time with chips and systems as they did not want them laying around. The 3 only wafer factories globally were all going through upgrades to production over a 5 year period.
but all of a sudden all this production time became free because chip manufacturers were now cancelling allocated build slots for their wafer.
ao the decided to allocate to themselves and get factories up and running at bigger capacities. All of a sudden second wave caused a huge increase in car sales.
wafer manufacturing could not backtrack as they were now in the middle of a big upgrade.
I saw people recently people referencing the earth quake I’m tiawan caused nag a bigger delay again, yes a semiconductor factory was effected but it was a memory based semiconductor that was producing chips for ddr4, ddr5 and gddr6 based chips and nothing even remotely related to what’s found in cars.
It’s the dishonesty that’s the problem and looking at it from a VW point of view they don’t even have specification broachers any more.
As they increased the retail prices, what seemed like every other month, they would produce a new broacher/price list where you could see the prices of every spec in every trim for a given model.
The reason they gave for stopping the spec/price list is because of the never ending price increases but to my thinking it also gives them the ability to hide exclusions to specifications.
Now we don’t know what where getting until were sat in the car and with no broachers there’s no way to prove you haven’t got the car they said you would have. I’ve noticed this a lot of late with most manufactures you only got an online specification that only tells you what you get (normally big got to have items) but not what you don’t get, in other words you get told its got the heated seats but not told they’ve excluded the satnav that you assumed was standard although VW do give a “general specification” after you configure a car that you can print out but its so easy to remove something without it coming to your attention as they can change specs with the changing of the weather.
The UK has some of the best, if not the best, consumers laws in the World except when it comes to cars where we have some of the worst. You would not get away with taking things out of a car before delivery without telling you if we were in the USA where they have lemon laws and a good example of there car sales rules is VW bought back all the diesel cars they sold to US customers after diesel-gate where in Europe we got a court case if you can afford to fight it.
I can understand Mickey’s feeling of just wanting to be done with it as I had the same thing with not having an electronic hand brake in my current car when I was told it definitely has and when it turned up it didn’t but like you Micky after spending months if not years looking for a suitable car you just give up. Now I’ve spent three and a half years pulling up that lever thing between the seats and curse that KIA dealer every time and goes without saying I’m not getting another KIA even though its a very good car, be it one without a EHB.

Yes thankyou Elliot ,well I understand as couple of guys misunderstood my comments ,hey I don’t want upset fallout with anyone ,but as some didn’t like it ,was best motability removed ,the intention was to advise if I could after having car couple weeks , no worrys keep safe keep well .

Took delivery of my CLA Shooting Brake on Tuesday and was horrified to discover now electric seats, no electric tailgate etc etc etc. I returned the car to Mercedes today. Totally shocking what they’ve done to the Premium Plus options !! How can they have the ordacity to still call it Premium Plus ??? It’s beyond me.
What it really comes down to is this, are you willing to take a hit on certain missing spec and live with the car for another 3-5 years?
I applaud you for taking it back. What gives them right to still charge Premium Plus price?
If you walked up to the dealer on the day of collection with only half the AP saying “I’m sorry but due to issues worldwide with the economy blah blah I can only give you this half of thr advanced payment…”
Do you think they’d accept that? Of course not.
If you haven’t already got a Motability vehicle, I feel your pain in having no option but to accept what you’re given…
Goes to show you, doesn’t it? At the end of the day, you’re just a number to them. Loyalty? What loyalty?

What if you returned your old Motability car to them in exchange for your new one. Only to find all these missing. You would then be left with no car if you returned it. Best to keep hold until you can confirm what is missing then decided, do I still want it.
