Just had email from Mob letting me know I’m in my last six months and that I can order from 30th Dec.

Subject to test drive I’m currently leaning towards the Inster. Now, ordinarily I’d have ordered in Q4 with agreement that any reduction in Q1 would be passed on. However, I’m not going to be here to order on the 30/31 so I was wondering if it might be possible to ‘arrange’ with the dealer to put the order in then anyway? I can’t remember if you need to be there?

Also, what’s the thinking on how Q1 might go? Obviously if it’s great and new stuff is on or more enticing stuff gets reduced I can cancel and reorder anyway but I would like to lock in the current 199 ap on the Inster if I can to be on the safe side.

Providing the Inster is a 3 month factory order and not a stock car, you cold visit the dealer and ask, if they are willing to place a factory order now and put the Motability application through on your due date. At the same time you can request, should the AP be reduced in Q1, would they be prepared to reduce the amount due by you in line with Q1 prices, if of course AP’s do reduce.

Obviously you need to test drive (extended), to ensure the car is suitable.

I did similar with Ford, at the time we rejoined the scheme and was waiting on paperwork.

          As Kezo says

I have out in a factory order before my motability ordering window opens. The dealers can do this to shorten delivery times. Once you signed the factory order, the motability dealer can put the motability order through for you.

Ooh good call guys, hadn’t thought about getting the jump on the factory lead time as well. Better get my butt in gear and get test driving!  Unfortunately the nearest Hyundai dealers are about 40 miles in either direction but hey ho.
