Just watched the Skoda Auto live yearly conference.
Very interesting.
Semiconductor shortage lost them 285,000cars but they still built 887,000
They have shown their solidarity with Ukraine by continuing to source wiring for wiring harnesses from them and not gone to China like some other suppliers. The wiring plants are starting to run again.
Future us BaeV, PHaeavs are not a large part of future Skoda as they are expensive and not that environmental Future is BaeV for them.
No plans for hydrogen cars.
Enyaq is currently stopped as shortage of wiring harnesses.
Overall the automotive industry has lost 50mi!!ion cars not manufactured.
Telling that they whilst didn’t make as much profit as before COVID, they were able to keep profits high by channelling cars to markets with bigger profit margins. I would imagine this is a strategy by most manufacturers.
Coving and Russian war has made them look at heir strategy of outsourcing parts from outside Europe.

50 million cars not manufactured has to be very good for the environment.
Not if the cars they were destined to replace are older polluting cars, however, fewer cars is good. High fuel prices are helping in that regard as people use their vehicles less.
It doesn’t as those cars would replace older cars and would also be made up of many BEV cars.
