We returned a manual Ateca in 2020 after having it for 12 months because my left knee went and I couldn’t use the clutch with 0 penalty’s. The only stipulation was that the next car had to be automatic obviously so we got an Ateca with DSG. Then in 2023 we got a Megane ev but our land owners refused (after 3 months of us being told we would get a positive outcome) permission to get a home charger installed, so we rang motability and again without a charge or any issue, they let us give back the megane EV and we have had our hybrid Honda ZR-V since January 24. The morning we actually picked up or ZR-V, we actually got confirmation that we could get a home charger installed!! So my point is, if you have a valid reason, they are usually very easy to deal with. Also at only £250, the early termination fee is very very low! Try getting out of a personal car agreement and it will cost thousands. Good luck.
As above. Call Motability to explain. If you have a valid reason they are usually quite accommodating if you have a genuine issue that cannot be resolved.

It’s a Peugeot 208 GT Hybrid and there is an awful lag of a few seconds when the vehicle goes from electric mode and reverts back to petrol mode, it’s so dangerous when pulling out quickly into fast traffic. Seems to be a come fault and there are a number of 208 owners complaining about the same problem.
Are you sure the car doesn’t have a problem? Ask the garage to assess it maybe? What do the forums say, is it a common feature of the car??

Yes, it is a known problem with this vehicle. Many other owners of the same model are also complaining about the same problem and how dangerous it is. I have found a way around the problem which is to disable the stop/start system or to use the sport mode and there is then no lag. I suppose I can live with this because apart from this problem it is a lovely car.

Definitely speak to the garage first and then maybe try Motability but I don’t think your assessment is valid, they’ll say it’s a characteristic of the vehicle.I wouldn’t call that dangerous as most turbocharged cars have a lag when accelerating. It definitely happens on my wife’s Mini Cooper S and I wouldn’t call that dangerous.

Yeh Ford Powershift gearbox is well known for this characteristic, I have had numerous Fords with the gearbox and learnt to drive with it or keep it in sport mode.
