Qashqai Tekna Park Assist Help

I picked up the new Qashqai Epower Tekna on Monday.

Just need a bit of help getting to use the park assist. Took the car in to the dealer today and they showed me, but, I didn’t get a chance to have a go myself. Then tried it and it didn’t do the same as when the dealer did it.

Found a quiet cul de sac to have a go – that was a disaster because so many damned cars bombing in to and out of the road, so that was a waste of time.  Why people have to be right in your boot is just beyond me.

Can’t find any accurate or current YouTube videos that have the same set up. Parallel parking between 2 spaces is what I’m looking for particularly.

It’s the only thing I really need but it seems to be quite a faff, especially when previous Ateca was so straightforward.

Anyone got a quick and, more importantly, simple explanation please??

        1 -Activate ProPILOT Park:

While driving forward at reduced speed, press the ProPILOT Park switch.

The system will search for an available parking space.

When a suitable spot is detected, you’ll hear a chime, and the display will indicate (P), signaling that the vehicle is ready for parking.

        2- Position the Vehicle:

Depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.

Touch [Start] on the screen to initiate parking control.

The ProPILOT Park control icon turns green, and the brakes automatically keep the vehicle stationary.

        3- Parking Process:

The system guides the vehicle through the parking maneuver.

If an obstacle is detected by the parking sensors or cameras, manual parking is required.

The vehicle will move toward the direction change position rectangle (indicated by an arrow on the vehicle icon).

Adjust the vehicle speed based on surrounding conditions.

When the vehicle enters the next direction change position rectangle, the shift lever automatically changes.

If an obstacle prevents reaching the next position, stop the vehicle near the obstacle and change the shift lever position to adjust direction.

Once the vehicle is within the parking guide box (light blue), parking control ends, and a sound notifies the driver.

The shift position changes to P (Park), and the electric parking brake engages.

        4 – Manual Intervention:

If necessary, you can deactivate ProPILOT Park by touching [Cancel] on the screen.
Manually park the vehicle or reposition it if needed.

        Owners Manual. 8.27.4.1. Parallel parking.

Thanks Kezo. I’ll try that all again. I’ll take a passenger too. They can help with the right order in proceedings.  Let’s hope we can find another quieter cul de sac. One with fewer speeding drivers.
