Ordering next car questions

If I order a car before the end of this quarter and in the next quarter the AP goes down, can I cancel and reorder. Would I have to cancel the order through both the dealer and motability or just one or the other.

Also if a vehicle comes onto the scheme that is more suitable.

Do I cancel the first order with the supplying dealer and motability and then order from the other dealer.

      Thanks

It’s a matter of days away now so I’d be sorely tempted to sit on my hands and wait.

At the risk of being totally wrong, I’d like to think next quarter will have a few more cars added and APs reducing a little across the board. Of course, AP reductions tend to be greatest on cars the manufacturer isn’t shifting via normal sales channels and/or models coming close to refresh or withdrawal.

You are completely able to cancel to the point at which you enter your PIN when you collect your car. Living where I do, there’s not a lot of choice of local dealers so I’d be tempted not to cancel for the sake of it for fear of having my card marked, so to speak.

          Vinnym70.

The trouble with waiting is, the vehicle being removed or a price increase.

I  did think of the Nissan Qashqai E-power in the first quarter then in this quarter it shot up £800. So I would be not very happy if it happened to the car I have been looking at.

I have another test drive on Thursday and all being well, will probably order but if the Kia Sportage comes on the scheme in automatic next quarter, I would be tempted to change.

I was informed at the MG garage a couple of weeks ago that the MG4 is dropping £1000 next quarter and the variant below that is Nil AP.   Maybe not your cup of tea, but I believe prices are going to come down in the next few days.

Possibly cars could come back on the scheme.

Summer is a horrible time for vehicle (and house) sales, so the manufacturers may just drop their prices for Summer.

i ordered a nissan juke in dec on wpms the ap was 900ish, in feb it went down to 631, all i had to do was speak to the dealer and they changed it. its a 10 minute thing.

if you are set on a particuular car and you think theres a danger of it being removed or the ap going up then sign up now.

the ap going down isnt an issue as i said its a 10 minute job for the dealer.

Hello, well that didn’t go to plan, was supposed to have another test drive in the Mini Countryman today (Thursday) all being well I was going to order. I was busy yesterday and didn’t look at my phone till late when I did I had an email from Williams Mini saying

Unable to provide test drive as Williams have made the decision to stop the Motability scheme.

So the search continues, see what the new quarter brings.

That’s the plan but being so close to the new quarter  I thought that I would wait and see what happens. There is another Mini dealer close by, which I will visit but since searching the various makers websites, I came across the VW T-roc, last time I looked it didn’t have the powered tailgate ever as standard or as an option. Now there is an option to add the powered tailgate, plus it has a heated steering wheel which the countryman does not, but was a compromise I had to make. Also they are both around the same AP. So far anyway, see if it remains the same the new quarter.
