Well visited the Vauxhall dealership on Monday and finally took the plunge and ordered my first Motability car.

I was intially interested in the Mokka 1.2 Ultimate manual but as soon as we sat down the Motability Specialist was upfront and said that currently the Mokkas have a lead time of 4 – 6 months.

At that point I did say that I would consider an automatic if one became available and I was offered a Mokka 1.2 automatic that apparently was a cancelled order and ‘should’ be ready for pick up at the beginning of February. The added bonus was it had also been ordered in Arctic White which is the colour I actually wanted.

All the paperwork is done and the website was showing that my application had been accepted by the time I got back home.

The dealership have told me to ring them in January to confirm everything is still on track but I did notice that when I took a look at the PDF contract on the Motability website the agreement is showing 39 payments starting 06/03/24 but I have read that those dates should be disregarded as they aren’t accurate.

Overall was a good first time experience and now its just the wait to see if this car does actually arrive by February 🙂

Congrats!

The dealer will have added a margin of leeway for delivery on the paperwork but, nothing to worry about as your car will most likely arrive sooner.

Your disability payment is every 4 weeks hence 39 payments. (39 x 4=156 weeks or 3 years)

I suppose I should have asked at the time I said I would have the car when the car was initially ordered as that would have given me a better idea of the timeframe but hopefully the dealer will be able to give me some more info when I ring them in January

Congratulations Badwolfe, always a bit daunting the first time but I’m glad that you had a good experience at the dealership and even better that it’s the colour you wanted. February will be here before you know it.
