In China world SAIC (MG), perhaps have a little too much involvment in VW, owning a greater percentagt in a joint venture, which stands at 50%, than VW’s 40%.

Also, perhaps to play VW at its own game in europe SAIC launched the all new MG HS PHEV, with a humungous battery (to close a call to say its different to VW groups), for an equally whopping 75 mile electric only range and with a total output of 370bhp and 569Nm.

On top of that MG states it has V2L capability ( @des). If this proves to be the case, it will put it, at the top of the game for PHEV technolgy, especially in the the mainstream market and perhaps an overall better option than VW’s Tiguan PHEV.

The downside, like any Asian car, it likes its bings and bongs so make sure these can be turned off😂

I’ve had a sit in the new HS and I have to say it’s pretty impressive in terms of quality of materials, a variety of textures and fit and finish, not to mention Tech..

I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve driven it and I agree that £4k AP is steep but this car has little in common with MGs of a couple of years ago. Even the new ZS is a big step forward compared to the outgoing model.

And I  never thought I’d be praising MGs……..

          2020 - Volvo XC40 T4 Inscription
          2017 - Audi Q3 TFSi Sport S-Tronic

Quite simply silly money its AP  should be £3000 lower imo

Punching well above its weight for what it is imo

Rather than the MG, this caught my eye from todays changes :

              Toyota Corolla Hatchback
1.8 Hybrid GR Sport 5dr CVT
              Advance Payment:

              £1,995

I’ve given up on the V2L tbh at the moment. Just a bad car run and now winter is coming is seems a far away dream.

I’ve sat in this car twice. 1. It looks great inside and out. 2. Quality materials again inside. 3. If it drives like the old mg it will be an all round cracking car. Agree with others mind that ap needs to come down a bit. Actually I do think it’s worth the price, but I don’t believe cars with big aps would be for me. Over 3.5k and I would leave the scheme and go private
