A bit of a comedown from the JCW Mini you took delivery of last August no?

What happened to the JCW?
March 20, 2024 at 9:58 am #268854No Dave not really I did like the Mini but the Adaption’s company could not get out to sort out my hoist and assured me they could fit one it turned out bad news as they could not in the end and Motability were great gave me all my money back and did not have to pay any termination fee as it was not my fault. Anyway no it is not a come down as I am no boy racer and too be honest 0.60 at 8.1 secs is as fast as my 1989 Suzuki Swift GTI and that was a real hoot to drive also the dealer told me they have been seeing over 60mpg.
March 20, 2024 at 12:13 pm #268862@Tiny Tim:
I have the 208 GT Premium 130 (pre-facelift) which is 3-years old next month. Loved every day with it.
I looked into getting the exact same car & colour you’ve chosen – but Peugeot are a bit naughty when it comes to equipment. They’re not the only ones of course, but I need heated seats (£500), adaptive cruise control (£250), blind spot monitoring (£250) and I do love (and use) inbuilt SatNav which is another £400.
It worked out that although the AP was just £99 – the total AP rises to £1,500-odd with options added.
I have the new Clio Esprit Alpine 145 full hybrid on order which comes with all of the above as well as a heated steering wheel thrown in for good measure (probably never use it) and is £595 AP.
You will love the little Peugeot 208 though, for sure!
March 20, 2024 at 12:24 pm #268863Hi Solent the new twin clutch six speed is better than the Mini I had as the Mini was not as good as DSG in other cars I have had and it works in a simple manor in sport mode it flies. I wanted the extras you had on yours but apparently it would hold up production so I am happy and also I have a new Tomtom with live traffic Sub which I like.

I had my 208 serviced and its first ever MOT exactly a week ago today. My dealer is terrific (Snows Peugeot, Portsmouth) and always enjoy a good chat with them. Dealer told me if I wanted a new 208 GT 136 hybrid, current waiting time (with the options I wanted) was 6-8 weeks, so not too bad.
Make sure you post photos & thoughts when you pick it up TT!

It does indeed (I have the metallic previous yellow).
New one has a sort of lime green hue in the sunlight and it is stunning – very eye-catching.
I’ve seen a couple on the road now in that colour & a few at the dealers last week in that colour. They also had that new grey colour but… you’ve definitely gone with the ONLY colour worth choosing Tim!

Apart from manual, the Mini has a 7 speed DCT or in the case of the JCW a 8 speed Torque Converter, capable of handling the higher torque at low revs.

Many thanks Solent it is strange though that putting extras on the car holds up delivery and yes the Grey Colour looks nice the dealer when choosing the colour sent me 3 videos one in Stunning Met Red and yellow and the blue and to be honest I had a hard time making my mind up between the red and yellow in the end I went with the Yellow with its hint of lime like you say.
