My recent car search dealership experiences

      Like some others do

I first boil my car search down to a select few and then go look at them one by one

I can order in June as lease ends in Sep

Curiosity more than anything took me to the Smart Hashtag 1 showroom

Which as it turned out the only car there on show was not even on the scheme

A single Brabus show car that was stood alone in its own ad-hoc sectioned off tiny corner of a massive Mercedes showroom

      It looked forlorn and shunned

First close up look was met with disappointment

Cartoon and cheap were two things screaming at me

Those frameless windows and rubbish interior

      The shape

It looked so much better on YouTube lol

No wonder it was tucked away from the other spectacular looking Mercedes

      Time to leave

One thing that stood out to me was that the very long showroom had entrances at each end but the entrance to the smart section was locked so no one could enter and first see the small Smart section

It came across to me that this weird looking Hashtag was being hidden

Ah well off to Mini to look at the countryman E

Well on entering the gleaming showroom pride of place there was a giant of a car and yes it was the countryman
First impression was its very nice followed by but it’s bigger up close than I thought it would be

Loved the car the look inside and out

Loved the interior finish and supporting seats, the staff were amazing but I knew it was too big for our needs and tbh having sat in the driver’s seat

I didn’t get that at one with the car feeling that I was looking for.

Dang no 300+ BHP for me then

Left things for a couple of weeks and decided to go and have a closer look at the Kia EV3 the last car on my list

First impression of the dealership was great lots of disabled parking spots

Lovely modern clean showroom and the place was very active with people of all ages looking around

The place had a nice buzz about it

Again on entering there sat the EV3 in silver a colour not thought about before but once seen I was hooked and couldn’t imagine having it in any other colour

The car on show was the base model air which was nice to see

I hear because of its standard kit it and price it is expected to be the most popular choice and perhaps why it was placed in pride of place

A lot of car IMO for a AP  of £999

Looked all around it then Sat in it and straight away

I knew without doubt my search was over

Will it still be on the scheme in June?

      Will the AP rocket?

Time will tell and from now on it will seem a long wait because right now I do not have a plan B and I need to have one if this one is removed as I need to order before July to avoid the Vat charges that are looming

Been told that the AP price gets locked in once ordered

      Fingers crossed

i agree with you about the kia showroom, i went to worksop and it was a former ford showroom. right in pride of place was the ev3 air and the ev4 gt line next to each other. perfect as both exact models and trim i wanted to see right next to each other.

i agree the air trim in the ev3 is perfectly fine it has pretty much everything you need. in the end i went for the ev4 gt line as both air and gt line are 0 ap on wpms so might as well and the seats are an improvement over air.

they even had an ev4 fastback in the showroom will be interesting if that comes on the scheme but it is very marmite it either suits you or it doesnt and the looks are a bit out there.

i had a countryman previously and even i was suprised at how big it is now and i did like the test drive buut i think the extra range in the ev4 will win out.

I wonder if they will come out with an advert like Renault did with the Megane back in the day!

I find both Hyundai & Kia dealerships very well presented and always busy with peole looking around no matter what time of day.
