        Hi Kev

If it’s due make arrangements with the dealer for a curtsey car while yours in for service. It is common practise with mobility cars. You will need to provide your driving license and insurance. Though some dealerships have these on record.  Just ring them to sort out.

I was advised of needing to offer a week’s notice for a courtesy car due to the dealerships covid precautions.

I am sure the last time I had a courtesy car from BMW they said there was a voluntary £20/30? excess payment to cover the £1,000 damage access if I had an accident. this apparently is no longer required and is covered by Motability?

They where trying it on mate. Your Mobility insurance covers you fully. You should have reported them to motabilty

Hi last week our VW SV was in for a MOT and service. Had a courtesy car which for once was an auto. Just needed my driving license and Motability certificate of motor insurance.

Had cars serviced several times now with Motability. I always take a courtesy car as I need to get to work 40 miles away, never needed anything more than to tell the dealership that when I booked the service and my licence on the day, didn’t even need that last time, out of my car and in the courtesy car within 2 minutes.

Never been asked for insurance certs.

In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

Usually get a courtesy car but Mitsubishi wouldn’t provide one a few weeks ago and blamed covid so best to check with the dealer.

The Vw dealers I use in west London couldn’t be more helpful, in the past I’ve turned up with my Tiguan and the usual courtesy car is a polo.
Without even having to say anything they’ve supplied me with either another Auto Tiguan or a Touran.

As joss says if the dealer asks for a fee for insurance excess ring motability because your RSA policy covers you.
