On the phone to motability today, answered after 40 mins on hold, told them that my dealer has said my new order will probably be February for delivery and i said i will not pick up the car until March 1st because i would wait for new reg plate and they told me i would have to accept February collection and why do i want to wait for new reg. Well after arguing about it for 15 minutes and unable to make them understand why i would wait for new reg plate i told them i would not accept February collection and would not enter my pin number and would walk away and cancel the order. Rant over.

I find it worth remembering that other people’s views are just as valid as mine, and should be treated with respect, even when they so obviously don’t know what they are talking about.
I would like to know who changed the title of my original post, seems like motability have a big say in whats posted on here or someone accepted a plain brown envelope. The new title is nothing to do with what ive said to motability!!!
When we lease cars through Motability, we do so as customer’s of Motability and have to accept their terms and conditions, or choose to lease or buy elsewhere. For me, the registration plate does not matter. The new title of this thread seems to summarise what is about, albeit , I feel the debate has run it´s course.

As I said before just tell the dealer would would like to delay pick up and it unlikely to be a problem. No need to get mb involved.

I changed it so it would enable readers to know what they were clicking on, a random ‘hogwash’ did not do that. I am happy for you to email me a suitable title.
I used to enjoy having a new plate and then I enjoyed a specific date. It costs nothing and it it gives you a lift having a new car on a new plate, why not?
Kaiser it is up to you if you want a new reg you can ask dealer or tell motability i will not sign with pin till it is the new reg as long as it is not too many months away that is.

I wouldn’t be too concerned ?. 7 months will probably become a year
the way things are you maybe lucky if you get it in time for march reg, sept maybe closer than you think looking at some of the delivery threads.
