BradOne thing that tends to annoy me is when people park in disabled bays who have no badge or appear to have any disabilities. I realise not all disabilities are visible. But it annoys me when people park in disabled bays without a badge. Does this annoy anybody else and would you confront them?

BradAlso, not here to start a debate. I realise people could be picking up someone with a disability etc etc….

PsuaderWhether they have a hidden disability or are collecting someone disabled, they should display a badge. If they have no badge, they are NOT entitled to park there. If there is someone parked without a badge, I always stop and politely point out to the driver (if they are present) that they’ve forgotten to display their badge.

PaulAnnoys me ,but sometimes various reasons make it hard to determine who is or isnt parking in them.
As a bluebadge holder myself,i have parked in bays and forgot to display it myself.
December 15, 2021 at 7:22 am #171671Depends on which side of the bed I get of. On a grumpy day I would politely remind the person they forgot to put their blue badge up and leave it at that. I have had too many arguments over too many years with people. It’s not my job to police it. You will never stop it, the culture in the UK stinks.

December 15, 2021 at 7:44 am #171672i go to the arc gym in clowne for chair based exercise classes and a new well being class using shapemaster power assisted exercise machines every day now. the building is also bolsover district council offices and some other bods. the worst offenders at parking in the disabled bays are the councillors when they have meetings.
we keep reporting it but they say it isnt enforcible, and the councillors well lets just say their attitude just sucks.
December 15, 2021 at 8:03 am #171675Yes, the abuse of disabled parking at sports centres is very frustrating. I mean, why? They go there for exercise, yet the 20 yard walk to the door is too much for them.

December 15, 2021 at 11:38 am #171686these are office workers or councillors going to council meetings, the gym just happens to be in the same building. had a blazing row with one guy who came out with the classic “dont you know who i am,i run this place”.
he wasnt too happy when it was pointed out he wasnt doing a very good job.
December 15, 2021 at 12:33 pm #171693many use them as they are wider so less chance of getting dinged by a door. most normal spaces are way too small width wise for modern cars

Same with the leisure centre here in Worksop mitch. All the disabled bays are taken up by people without blue badges. Even the able bodied teachers from the school next door park in them but nothing is done about it.
December 16, 2021 at 1:30 am #171737Sometimes i wish i just could park straight in front of these cuntractors, blocking them from leaving until my disabled wife has finished her business, rather than me dropping her off at the entry, driving around until the car’s parked, and walk back all while she’s waiting at the door for me.
And if it’s councillors, not suggesting anyone should do it, but i wouldn’t feel any sadness if their cars got keyed every time they feel entitled to disabled bays. Quite the opposite.
