BrydoSitting at the doctors just now and she’s running half an hour late. There’s been two women in front of me and they seem to take for ever to see the doc. There’s been a few guys in and out seeing other doctors but unfortunately I got the short straw.
I am next in so hopefully it won’t be too long.

October 28, 2022 at 11:24 am #199310Relative of mine had pain for a few days and wanted to see his GP, practice said they couldn’t get him in and arranged for a paramedic to ring him.
How long have the Tories been in power? ?

October 28, 2022 at 12:14 pm #199311In order to be put on the waiting list for an appointment at our GP.
(a) Phone for a telephone appointment on Friday 9.00 am morning (you cannot book in person at the surgery) expect to wait an hour, once or if the waiting list is full which it usually is you have to wait to the following Friday and again take your chances to get on the list.
(b) if you are successful to book an appointment you will have to wait between 4 to 5 weeks for the telephone appointment.
(c) when you receive your appointment, the GP will decide if they book you in an appointment, you then again have to wait until Friday to actual book an appointment, again this could take 4 to 5 weeks.
It has been at least 2 years since I have actually seen a GP, my yearly review it carryout over the phone.
It was abysmal before covert, now near on impossible, the majority of people in our area just go to AE at Stafford hospital.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
October 28, 2022 at 12:42 pm #199314Hope alls well @Brydo
Shocking state of affairs, how did we get like this and will doctors return to normal!
My doctors are somewhat better than what sme of you experience especially @Oscarmax
Ring my GP surgery before o840, you will get a call before 1230
Ring after 840 you are told to ring back at 1230 to be told you will get an afternoon call or only emergency appointments left.
You no longer get t see a doctor face to face, only diagnosed over the phone and given medication based on what the crystall ball says at the time. I have had to ring up half a dozen times recently because what they have prescribed is not suitable.

ajnThe A&E departments truly are an eye opener, I had to attend for due to a slip with a Stanley knife and being on certain meds, in my case I was in and out due to the amount of blood being hosed everywhere…
However people were crying, shouting arguing about waits of 10 hours..
OMG it’s truly is a sight in there..

BrydoBeen having problems with my minor angina. Having to use my spray every other day for the past month or so, prior to this virtually never use the spray.
She has increased some of my meds and took blood ?. I’ve to go back in a couple of weeks to tell her things are going.

BrydoTwo options at our surgery.
i) Call at eight in the morning to get a “same day” face to face appointment. (Usually takes about twenty minutes to get through and sometimes all appointments are gone)
ii) phone anytime and get a telephone or face to face appointment, sometime in the future, usually two to three weeks wait.
