I’ve plumped for the cheapest car on Motability!

    Gee

Hyundai i10 £55 per month with a zero AP.

The £60 that i’ll save every month from my Motability component will cover my petrol usage.

It may be cheap as chips but the i10 has lots of good reviews online.

*There are quite a few bad reviews as well but i didn’t read any of those.

It’ll get me to my local hospital appointments, supermarkets & Chemist.

Any milk floats that fancy their chances at the lights are gonna get it.

Of its two main competitors the i10 looks better than both the Picanto and the Aygo. Plus it comes with more kit as standard.

I could wait until 1st October in the hope that it reduces in price further but my local Hyundai Motability specialist has told me that’s highly unlikely. He went on to say ‘quit being greedy . . its already the cheapest car on the scheme!’ I like to think he was joking about quitting being greedy?

I’m not gonna lie i really wanted the Ford Kuga but i’ve plumped for the i10 purely on the financials.

The final benefit in going with the i10 is that in 3yrs time i’ll have saved enough for the AP on the Audi Q4

        What a good post.

It’s an interesting thread to start as it highlights the other end of the spectrum in comparison to the many posts about high AP’s and top end type vehicles.

I applaud your level headed approach, pragmatism and humour.

          its a good choice.

not all of us need to fit wheelchairs, scooters, rugrats, pooches or swmbo.

some of us are on our own.

if i could get in an out of one i would go the same route.

i didnt do too badly this time, i am on wpms so thats 79 a week i went for the juke hybrid for the higher seat and fortunately for me the ap was 639 covered by the veterans auto grant of up to 660. and the weekly payment is 72 so i get to keep £7 a week.

so i am going to save as much as i can and if the accuupuncture etc helps my  back as much as it is seeming to do hopefully mota will bring back the mini  jcw at a sensible price or something as much fun.

a last throw of the dice lol.

            |If it for one or two of you and you don’t need a big boot, it will get you fro A to B and back to A as any other car would and save you money at the same time, so why not 🙂

            Also dtto @POPS comment!

As time goes by this is a sensible choice for me and one to be considered

Enjoy the freedom that this car can give

Although £55 weekly not monthly is still a great deal

I must confess that initially i had reservations about starting this thread  – the main reservation being @Berty having a meltdown that i chose an ICE vehicle over an EV (i’m only joking @Berty lol)

If i could charge at home i would definitely go for an EV. (but i can’t charge at home, so i wont.)

As @Kezo recently pointed out those of us that live in flats are never gonna be able to go the EV route unless charging cables are extended to reach the 12th floor lol.

                  @Mitch

Acupuncture although expensive (£65 per session) absolutely works for my back too.

Plus, acupuncture cleared up my sinus issues too.

How or why acupuncture works i haven’t got a clue, all i do know is that thankfully it works for me.

@Gee my electro acupuncture is £45 a session bit like a tens machine they stick the needdles in and then attach electrodes and then turn up the power one  by one. when you squeal they turn it down a notch.

only joking its a lot more proffesional than that but works a treat.

if i keep it up i reckon i could live with a jcw.

                      LOL @Mitch hehehe!

Mrs Gee is a big supporter of acupuncture too.

On our 2019 vacation in Haiti she had a 6in doll of me made up by a local Priestess!

I echo POP’s sentiments and have looked at the i10 myself.

I’ve recently been awarded the higher rate of mobility, yay, and will be conducting a test drive within a Mini Electric tomorrow morning. If all goes accordingly, I will be placing an order. Zero AP and the ability to charge at home should see my £80 per month fuel bills significantly reduced.
