      Good evening, I am new to whichmobilitycar …. first post … hello! Of course over the past weeks I have been looking through the various threads/topics and trying to get a sense for how the motability scheme works but I also have a question that I am unable to find the answer for that relates to insurance, in the case of a faut or non fault accident, details as follows;

      From what I have read, I would say that the majority of vehicles available through the motability scheme require an advance payment and in the case of some EV this could run into the mid thousands of pounds.

      In the case of an accident where the vehicle is written off, either fault or non-fault, what happens with respect to obtaining a replacement vehicle, do you have to pay another advanced payment?

      I am sure that any answers that I receive will probably generate more questions;-)

      Thank you in advance
      Ian

        if memory serves me right you get a proportion back depending on how long you’ve had the car but this doesnt include extras packs etc as there def not included in refund

          yes thats right basically if the car was written off half way through the lease you would get back half of the advance payment. as far as ordering a replacement you basically start again so would have to pay whatever the advance payment is at that time.

          if you fitted additional extras you dont get anything back for them.

            Hello there, thank you for responding …….. both your explanations are was pretty much how I thought it would be but I could not find any details to confirm this, in any event I am more settled now.

            Once again thanks for your help.
