im absolutely disgusted with the yet again price increase , the AP is so high on a lot of cars , AP cap was 3000 i think ,yet thats not the case .

we pay the high AP with nothing to show at the end exept use of a car for 3 years , the 3 years goes in very quickly then you need to start again .

like me a  lot of people dont  thousands of pounds saved up spare for AP and need to try and save for it over the curent 3 years for the next car that is if they car save at all .

If i could do with out a car i would but unfortunately l cant,  like most motability customers they need their car with out it a lot would be house bound.   We can complain and moan but it makes no diffrence AP still go up  jeep renegade some AP just offer £9000 thats £250 you need to have saved a month over the last 3 years .

And several affordable EV a few with zero AP, at the end of the day you set your budget and buy what you can afford.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

Hi, Just go and buy one then you can keep and finance it for as long as you want, then no grounds to complain

Option 2. Choose another car as there are many to choose from.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>There must be extra special reasons for the one you say you need, or is it simply you want this one</p>

micheal i didnt pick the jeep i was just using that as an example.

i maybe didnt get my point across , so ill try again .

the AP has gone up on lots of cars quite a lot , yet the price of the cars have not went up . another example  i think the volvo xc40 has gone up by £1000.

Everyone is freE to an opinion.  But I cannot understand such loyalty to an organisation swimming in profits. Who keep tightening the screws , charging more and more importantly giving less choice

I’ve been called a boy racer for wanting cars with high torque / bhp, but just because we are disabled in some manner it doesn’t mean we are not alive still.  Sure I get that some less fortunate than me require special adaptations that just won’t fit into certain vehicles but there are still a lot that don’t.  We’ve seen this scheme come under massive scrutiny before and as a result the scheme reshaped with rules about caps on vehicles and APs that hasn’t lasted.  In fact I’m not sure what the rules are now.  Latest list now includes APs that go up to £9k for the PHEVs

I for one am very disappointed with motability and do not see myself remains on the scheme past my current lease   OEMs are doing massive savings right now why dies non of this transpire into mutability with there massive buying power?

alfa Romeo are offering £6k off the 21my Giulia right now on the “super” variant   That brings the price down to £29k

I know the car industry has had a turbulent couple of tears WLTP backlogs on testing , COVID-19 and now brexit but 2 years a ago a tin of beans cost 50p   They still do   Are we just bearing the front of an organisation that puts the prices up just in case?

his point is valid,  and you should not be rude about it either, I had my eye on a few cars last quarter that have been removed in spec I would of liked bumped the lower spec ones ap up to way above the price the higher spec ones were at… I thought with car sales down 50% manufactures would be falling over themselves, Remember when motability stated that the cars ap represent the resale value after 3 years… this quarters AP prices make that statement look like complete Bo**ox to be honest as I 100% doubt a Meredes A class Saloon premium plus (not a car i want) with a advance payment of 7500 and retail of 40,185 will loose as much value in 3 years as the Hyundai Premium SE electric which is 3949 ap and retail of 38,500 so a difference of 1685 retail price, but the car that will loose them the most money is the Hyundai Premium se electric, yet the merc is nearly 4000 more AP.  Something sinister looks to be going on here. I just saw prices today and straight will be ringing motability to extend and then probably buy at end of 5 years and just save for another 2. It is defo looking like those of us that need larger cars and wanted to go hybrid or electric are not going to have a look in for quite a few years if ever with these prices… to rich for me.

You are more than welcome to lease a car elsewhere that wont have the protections and security with motability.

Its your choice to pay for a car with an ap and not to choose one with a nil ap

The lease takes into account the whole costs involved so a mercedes will usually cost more to insure vs a hyundai which also has a lower value after 3 years vs the mercedes as just one example.

Crikey, a lot of moaning on here today!

Yes there’s some ridiculous APs come into effect today, but if you can’t or don’t want to pay them you have 3 choices:

1). Extend your current lease until such time as APs soften, and they will.

2). Cut your cloth to suit, go for a car with no AP or one you can afford.

                              3) Lease yourself and be at the mercy of main dealer prices for servicing and parts. And if there is so much as a scuff on the paint or a stain on the upholstery, be prepared to be penalised handsomely at the end of the lease.
